Chapter 17: Midnight Talks.

Chapter 17.

The first time I realized I like Hunter was in eight grade. Being two years my senior, both my brother and Hunter were in their second year of high school, and by this point all the guys were horny and the girls were all willing to put out.

It was no secret to me that both boys were attractive, I'd always get questions asked about the two, from girls both older and younger to me. So when they started bringing girls around, I wasn't shocked, in fact I knew it'd be only a matter of time until it started happening.

I never really cared much about it, and I wasn't an idiot, I knew what was going on upstairs while I practiced violin and I ignored it, focusing solely on my playing while both guys had their fun.

Until the day that Logan came downstairs and snapped at me for playing to loudly.

"What you expect me to listen to your girl moan all damn day?" I snap at him as his eyes narrow.

"Keep it down Lil." He orders as I glare at him.

"Why can't you ever fuck them at their house?" I ask in annoyance, I was young, but even at that age I was one to talk back.

"Will you two shut up, I'm kinda in the middle of something." Hunter states as he walked down the stairs. He was shirtless and was only in a pair of boxers, but by the messy hair and multiple hickeys covering his neck I knew he was in fact in the middle of something.

My nose scrunched up at the thought as a pit of fire grew in my stomach, one that I wasn't familiar with.

"Tell little miss noisy here to shut up and maybe we will." Logan says while Hunter rolls his eyes.

"Lily can you please be quiet?" Hunter asks as my eyes widen, not believing that the two teens had to nerve to tell me to shut up when they were making all the noise.

"Quiet? How about you two stick a sock in the girls mouth, or better yet go to your house Hunter, I rather not have to wash those guest room sheets everytime you get horny." I shout at him as he flinched back.

"Lily shut up!" Logan yells.

"What do those girls not know they meant nothing, that they're just some one night stands!" I yell making sure I raised my voice towards the end. Logan moves forward though stops when Hunter steps in front of me protectively.

"She's right Logan, if your parents find out they'll tell mine and that's not going to go well." Hunter states as I roll my eyes at the two. Of course that was all they had gotten from my rant.

"That's it, I'll be with Alexis if you need me. By the way, clean your own damn sheets." I snap before heading upstairs only to bump in to a blonde girl who just so happened to be wearing Hunter's shirt.

"He'll be right up." I state with a fake grin before leaving and heading to Alexis who only lived a block away.

That night while I lay awake in Alexis's guest room, I realized why the pit of fire had grown in my stomach. It was because I was jealous, because he had been sleeping around and I was jealous.

And while I laid awake at night the day after Logan and I's argument I wondered if Hunter felt the same.  If he felt the same pit of fire in his stomach know that he knew I was sleeping with someone.

I glanced over at the body that slept next to me, his hair messy, and even with the dim lighting I could see the multiple hickeys on his neck and nail marks on his back.

I wondered how long we'd be able to keep the secret. I knew it would happen eventually, especially know that Hunter was set on winning me back like some trophy.

"I can feel you stressing." He states suddenly, I flinch, not knowing he was awake. His eyes open and he raises a brow.

"How long have you been awake?" He questions as I raise a brow.

"How long have you?" I ask as he chuckles and rolls over slightly.

"Few minutes, I kept my eyes closed because I wanted to go back to sleep but I couldn't due to your constant sighing." He states as I roll my eyes.

"I can't sleep." I mumble as he chuckles and moves closer.

"I think I can fix that." He mused with a cheeky grin. I laugh and push him back.

"What will happen when they find out about us?" I ask as he frowns.

"I'll run, your brothers got a good punch." He mumbles as I roll my eyes.

"You think I'm kidding, Lily you ran to me the night you found out about the bet and instead of calming you down and sending you home, I slept with you." He states as I smile at him.

"I won't let them hurt you, you've always been there for me and I'll be there for you, even if it means Logan will hate me." I mumble as we grow quiet.

"Come here." He mutters pulling me closer to him as he lays on his back. I cuddle in to his side as he wraps an arm around me.

"Go to sleep Lily, we both have classes tomorrow." He whispers before dropping a kiss on my forehead.

"I'm sorry." I mumble lowly.

"For what?" He asks with a slight chuckle.

"For pulling you in to this mess, for using you, for not being able to love you." I muse as he stays quiet. His hold on me tightens before he sighs.

"It's alright Lily, I didn't expect you to fall in love with me, and to be honest agreeing to the whole friends with benefits thing wasn't going to get me far." He states with a laugh as I laugh lightly.

"Thank you." I mumble as I finally close my eyes, feeling tired all of a sudden.

"Goodnight Lil." He whispers as I smile.

"Night Ben." I mumble as sleep takes over and I fall asleep.
