Chapter 26 - Why Do I Need to Put All of This On Every Day?
Hunter Ashford
"I kissed you because you drive me crazy."
I watched Alyssa's face transform from annoyed to shocked, not believing the words that came out of my mouth.
"I don't believe you."
Her words corresponded with my thoughts. Of course she isn't going to believe me, her stubbornness doesn't approve. Being with her for even 5 minutes will teach you that it takes 10 years to convince her of something, even when it's blatantly true.
"Well what is it going to take to prove it to you?" I asked.
"Nothing."
She took a step away from me to create some distance between us and I immediately dropped my hand from her waist. The way her body tensed under my touch made me feel almost proud that I had such an effect on her.
Alyssa dropped her head low, staring at the ground in deep thought before looking back up at me and shaking her head, "I'm not looking for a relationship right now."
Awesome.
The one girl I want doesn't want me.
How fucking amazing is that?
I rolled my eyes and took one last look at her before walking away. I've never been the kind of guy to persist someone into a decision when they have already made up their mind, so I thought it would be best to just leave her.
When I got back to everyone else I saw that most people had left. Caleb skated towards me and stopped, looking back at where Alyssa and I were before.
"How did it go?"
I shook my head, "She doesn't want me."
"Isn't that a first."
I chuckled, stealing a glance at Alyssa to see her talking to Sarah. I couldn't help but run my eyes over her. She was dressed so casually yet she stood out to me amongst everyone.
"I can't help it that I took an interest in Alyssa Shade."
I watched Alyssa laugh at something that Sarah said and she ran a hand through her hair, tucking the other hand into the back pocket of her jeans.
"She is hot though, I'm not gonna lie."
In a second I was clutching the top of Caleb's shirt in my hands, "Don't you fućking dare say that."
I growled lowly, sharp breaths exhaling from my nostrils.
Caleb's stunned face slowly morphed into a smirk and he tapped my cheek playfully.
"I think you are more than just interested, my dear friend."
I realized that he was right when I couldn't help but stare at her.

"Are you ready yet?" I asked Kayla who was sitting in front of the mirror in my room with a large bag full of makeup in her lap.
I leaned against the doorframe, watching her tie her straight jet black hair up before placing her brunette wig on her head, adjusting it slightly.
"Why do I have to put all of this śhit on every day?" She grumbled.
"Why do you have to ask that same question every day? Shouldn't you be used to it by now?"
She gave me a flat look, holding up what looked like a set of eyelashes.
