Chapter 33 – Do You See Him As Your Boyfriend?

"He has your nose."

I stared down at my baby brother with a bright smile on my face, mentally cooing as his tiny hands lay snug in the blanket.

Mark looked up at me and placed a kiss on my forehead.

My mom was fast asleep in the hospital bed because she could barely keep her eyes open after the delivery.

Unfortunately I failed in convincing Hunter to come along with me because there was a slight uneasiness to him when I asked.

It's going to take quite a while to get that boy to trust me.

"You should probably get that."

I was taken out of my thoughts when Mark pointed at my phone vibrating on the table and I picked it up to see the devil himself calling me.

"I'll be outside."

It was quiet in the waiting room with one woman asleep holding a magazine and a little boy on the other side of the room playing on a phone.

"Hey."

His voice through the phone sounded exactly like in real life – deep with an edgy rasp that I loved.

"How did it go?" He asked, making me smile. It felt good to talk casually with him like this now that I was actually in a relationship with him. At least that's what I liked to think this is seeing as though he hasn't exactly referred to me as his girlfriend or anything of the sort.

"It went well. I didn't know how tiring it is to deliver a baby until I saw my mother yawning every five seconds."

His deep husky laugh rang through the call and I exhaled, fighting the urge to crack another joke on the spot and attempt to record his chuckle.

"Are you hungry?"

I heard the sound of a horn in the background and realized that he was driving, "Yeah, please. I'm starving."

"By the way, if you expect me to say I'll pay then you'll be disappointed. You offered so you pay the price."

Initially, I was only joking and was about to tell him that but hearing that addictive laugh again made me lose all train of thought.

This boy will be the death of me.

"Can I ask you something?"

I felt the jealousy take over my mouth as I watched pretty much every girl in school stare at Hunter, practically eye-raping him. I wanted to do something that would indicate the fact that he isn't available but I felt like I may come across as desperate.

"What?"

He stood beside my locker, leaning against it.

"Are you okay with this? As in us being seen together in school?"

A smirk fell upon his face and without warning, he slammed my locket shut, gently pressing me against it and catching my lips between his in a searing kiss. I placed my hands on his chest to push him away and tell him we had an audience but all logicality flew out of the window as he wrapped me up in his warmth.

"Does that answer your question?"

I could see a small crowd of people around us but I couldn't care less about what they thought.
