A/N – I know, I know, it's been a while but I've just been really busy with college and sort of settling into the new atmosphere and getting used to A-levels. The updates will be more regular though. Enjoy the chapter xx

Chapter 37 – What Can I Get You, Sweetheart?

"Oh yeah just come inside its perfectly fine. In fact why do I even need a door?"

Daniel sarcastically remarked as I barged into his house as soon as he opened the door.

"I know that Hunter isn't your biological brother."

His hand froze on the door handle before closing it slowly and he turned towards me with a confused and shocked look on his face.

"He... told you that?" Daniel ran a hand through his hair before leaning against the kitchen counter.

"As surprising as it may sound, yes. He told me all about it."

If it was even possible, his eyes widened even further.

"The entire story?!"

I nodded.

"Starting from the part where his parent's threw him into an orphanage?!"

"Yes."

"And including the part where he lived on the streets?!"

"Just narrate the entire story again, why don't you?" I exasperated, fidgeting with my fingers. I was still on edge about his confession on the hill and after a few days, I decided that I would figure out why he is so intent on avoiding a relationship with me.

"Sorry. It's just that he has barely known you for a year and he's already told you that."

I noticed his laptop sitting on the counter along with a few books opened in front of it and papers scattered around the area.

"It looks like you're busy so I'm just going to get right to the point... And don't laugh."

He shrugged his shoulders with a smirk, waiting.

"I told Hunter that I love him and when he finally believed me regarding the whole cheating thing we talked. He told me that he cares about me and blah blah, you know the rest that comes with it. But he still refuses to be with me. I was just wondering if you would happen to know any potential reasons as to why he may be reluctant to be my boyfriend."

He shook his head, "I'm probably the last person who'd know shit about that. Not that it's any of my business but shouldn't you be asking him?"

"I've known him long enough to know that he'll either lie to me or avoid the subject altogether."

I've experienced enough blanking from Hunter already.

"I'll try and talk to him. See if it helps."

I stormed over to the door and flung it open, earning a laugh from Daniel, "Thank you. Bye."

That's all the overthinking I'm going to do for now. I still have 3 exams left and once they are over I'm off to Miami.

I sighed and leaned my head against the window, feeling the vibrations from the movement of the plane.

I finally managed to get through this week of exams and I've put all of my attention into revising and studying for them so I'm hoping for the best.

It's Friday. I left for the airport in the evening after saying goodbye and hanging out with friends for a while and now the sky is pitch black, the spotlights on the roof of the plane being the only source of light.
