Chapter 59 – Knob Head? How Romantic
Two Weeks Later

"Baby?"
Something soft brushed against the tip of my ear.
My eyes fluttered open and I was instantly met with the beautiful view of the sun minutes away from setting.
"Your boyfriend's coming."
I felt Hunter's hold around me tighten protectively and I couldn't help the small smile on my lips.
His reaction gave away who he was referring to with the word 'boyfriend' and I'd be lying if I said his jealousy wasn't amusing.
He had met Jordan last week, briefly at Ian's wedding and properly at the barbeque Charlotte held for all my friends and their families.
They got on quite well if I'm being honest, that is until Hunter asked me how Jordan and I knew each other. It goes without saying that telling your boyfriend about a guy who is supposedly in love with you isn't exactly the most convenient conversation.
It's one of those situations where it is blatantly obvious and everyone but the girl knows that her friend is in love with her. I'd been told many times before that he had an eye for me ever since we were fourteen but I just couldn't bring myself to even imagine being with him.
If he still is in love with me, then he is damn good at hiding it.
"Stop getting jealous. He's just a friend."
But I have to admit, a jealous Hunter is quite the amusement.
Hunter's arms came around me protectively, "If he so much as winks at you, I can't promise he'll make it out of here with a heartbeat."
I tapped his knee with a laugh, "You my friend, are way too possessive for my liking."
Before he could respond, I slipped out of his grasp and headed over to Jordan, purposely pulling him into a tight hug.
I'd be lying if I said being in his arms was comfortable. I could feel his hand just above my butt, his thumb caressing me over the thin tank top I had on.
I could also feel Hunter's burning gaze at the spot where Jordan's hand was still laying.
I tried pulling away but he just held on tighter and it was then that I realized I should probably keep my distance.
"I can't believe you're leaving already."
His lips were on my neck. I resisted the urge to push him away, not wanting to come across as rude.
I can't say his lips weren't soft because damn they were. But I still felt weird.
"I'm going to go back to the hotel room and let you guys catch up."
I instantly pulled away from Jordan, catching Hunter's arm before he had the chance to walk away. His tone didn't seem angry but I still didn't want him to get the wrong idea.
"I'm fine. He's your best friend so you should be spending time with him. Call me if you need anything."
He kissed my forehead briskly before walking away without another word.
I know him well enough to recognize exactly when his mood switches, and right now he was being passive aggressive.
I don't plan on giving his jealousy any attention, or trying to reassure him that Jordan only sees me as a friend because he should already know that by now.
