Brittany's POV

When Austin asked me if I could make the jump I was terrified. It was a huge gap and I really want sure if I could make it, but it was better than letting the dolls get me. I jumped and I knew I didn't get enough power. I felt myself falling. I thought this was the end of me I watched as Austin's face disappeared. I was saved by Austin's song grip. He pulled me up and I thanked him with a long hug. We totally forgot about those freaky dolls that were now gaining on us. Our only choice for escape was the door that stood behind us. We were back as far as we could go, backs against the door. I thought we were goners, but the door finally opened sending Austin and I to the ground. Luckily Austin broke my fall, but I didn't get to look at him in the eyes to say sorry, because the door slammed shut. We were in complete darkness. I rolled off of him and landed on the cold hard floor.

"Sorry Austin." I said as I stood up.

"That's okay." He got to his feet.

"Where do we go now?" I asked.

"Well first we should probably find each other." He giggled.

"Okay."

I held out my arms and followed Austin's projecting voice. I met Austin's warm hands and held on.

"Alright let's go." He acted so calm and seemed to always know what to do.

Austin and I began to talk as we traveled. It turns out, we had a lot in common. As we continued it started to lighten up. We were now able to see the outline of our bodies and the edges of the walls. I was about to say something to Austin, but the ground left our feet and we were falling.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh!" We screamed.

Our hands disconnected as we hit the stone floor.

"oww." We said in unison as we both rubbed our butts in pain.

Luckily this room was fully lit, so I could once again see Austin's beautiful eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I walked over to him.

"Yah, are you?" He asked in return.

"Yes, but where are we?"

"Well it just looks to me like a normal room with no windows or sense of style." He answered.

I giggled at his remark.

"There's that smile I've been longing to see."

We began to laugh, but was interrupted by that ear ringing cackle, belonging to an unknown witch.

I jumped and Austin began to laugh again.

"What? You laugh as if you've never been scared easily." I said.

"I haven't." He replied, puffing out his chest.

"Right." I said sarcastically.

I know I've seen him jump before, but it wasn't really enough to say he was scared, so in a way he is right.

"Well it looks like the only way out is through that door, so come on Mr. 'ain't nothing going to scare me'." I giggled as he was admiring his muscles.

We were quickly stopped as a knife nearly sliced us. I was to surprised to even move. Austin approached the knife.

"Brittany it's just plastic. I've seen this in another haunted house before."

"I don't know Austin they look pretty real to me." I said as I walked up beside him.

We continued to walk and sure enough another knife came down. I pulled Austin back just in time before the knife pierced his skin.

"What did you do that for?" He asked surprised.

"A simple thank you for saving my life would do!" I yelled.

"Like I said they are plastic." He said.

"Really? Then show me." I said a little irritated.

"Fine!"

He approached the knife and felt the tip.

"See it's..." He paused as his finger started to bleed.

"It's real." He said.

"Told yah!" I proudly stated.

"Well then I guess I should apologize and thank you."

He walked over to me and pulled me into a hug. We continued to walk towards the door cautiously. Again we were stopped, this time Austin pulled me back.

"Thanks."

"No problem."

"How are we supposed to get through this?" He asked.

"Wait, didn't you say you saw this in a haunted house you went to before?" I remembered.

"Yah, but it was like five years ago." He said.

"Can you remember which side each knife came out of." I asked.

"Sort of." He said nervously.

"That's the only way we're going to be able to get out of here without being chopped up into a million pieces." I said.

"Okay, I'll try."

He began to walk on the right side of the wall. I followed closely behind him. The knife came from the left.

"Good job. Keep it up." I whispered to him.

"It would help if you don't talk, because one wrong move could kill us both." He said seriously.

"Sorry."

We stayed on the right side. Again the knife came from the left. We switched over to the left, dodging the knife that came from the right. We were only two away from the door.

"Um... uhh...this is the part I can't remember." He said.

"Think hard Austin. You've gotten us this far." I encouraged.

"Um, I think it was the right side."

I followed him over to the right. The knife came down slicing a curl off Austin's hair. I covered my mouth, so I wouldn't scream. He turned slowly to face me, his face was pale, but he was alright. We continued on the right side. I crossed my fingers and prayed this was the right side. We heard the click, but this time instead of a knife a giant axe swung from the left coming directly at us. Austin jumped forward, barely missing the sharp blade.

"Brittany, you have to cross!" He yelled.

"But it's swinging to fast!" I yelled back.

"You can do it!"

I could see Austin on the other side. I waited for the axe to be on the left wall and jumped. The blade sliced the tips of my long blond hair, but I made it.

"Come on let's get out of here."

He opened the door and we stepped through. It was another dark tunnel.

"Great more darkness." I said sarcastically as we took each other's hands and closed the door.
