Austin's POV
I held out my arms for her to catch them as she launched herself. She reached for my hands, but came up short as she touched the tips of my shaking fingers. I immediately dropped to the ground, barely latching my hand onto her skinny wrist.
"Brittany, I got you." I said trying to calm her down.
She was speechless.
"I won't let you fall. I need you to help me by climbing up the side."
She nodded her head.
I pulled with all my might.
Brittany hoisted herself up and fell into my arms. She squeezed me tightly and I returned the squeeze.
"Thank you Austin." She whispered into my ear.
"You're welcome Brittany."
"Play with us!" The dolls screamed.
We turned around to the dolls approaching us.
"Dang it! I totally forgot about them." I said.
"Were do we go? What do we do?" Brittany asked.
"The door!" I whipped around and faced the door.
"But is locked!" Brittany said.
I jiggled the knob. The dolls were now inches away from us. I turned the knob one last time and it opened. I was not expecting it to do so and fell to the ground with Brittany landing on top of me. The door slammed shut before the dolls could enter and we were once again consumed in darkness.
Alex's POV
The last thing I remember was Austin and Brittany working on the doors and Hailey screaming bloody Mary. Oh, and the part where I'm falling to who knows where. I tried to get up, but my body ached in pain. The cold concrete floor sent chills throughout my body. Everything was dark except a small flickering light bulb off in the distance.
"Austin?" I yelled.
No answer.
"Brittany?"
Again no answer.
"Hailey?"
"Uhhhhh..." I heard someone or something grumble.
I made my way over to the light and as I got closer I began to see what looked like a pink blob.
"Wait wasn't Hailey wearing a pink shirt today?" I asked myself.
"She was!" I yelled excitedly.
"Hailey!" I screamed.
I sprinted over to her. She was bruised like I was, but she was okay.
"Alex?" She asked.
"Yah, I'm here." I sat down next to her and wrapped my arms around her.
"Where's Austin and Brittany?" She asked, her voice a little shaky.
"I don't know, but I'm sure they are fine."
"I hope so." She tried to hold back her tears.
"That was some fall huh?" I asked trying to lighten up the mood.
"Yah." A smile began to form on her face.
"At least we're away from those creepy dolls." I giggled.
She started to giggle too.
"Mahhhh!" Something grumbled in the distance.
"Please tell me that was your stomach." Hailey said nervously.
"I wish it was." I replied.
"Maybe we should keep moving." I suggested.
"Yah. Maybe we'll find Austin and Brittany along the way." She said as we got up and dusted ourselves off.
"I hope."
We locked our hands together and walked into the mysterious darkness.
