A week later and I finally have moved on from my father. First I was pissed, then I was depressed, and now I don't care. Funny how you think that if someone leaves your life that it will hurt like hell, but sometimes it doesn't. Ash Winters basically tore my heart into pieces, and my own father barely left a scratch.
With my social life being so busy, I have had barely any time to work on my story for English class. Even after, over, a month I still haven't gotten further than the introduction. Oh well, maybe I'll work on it when I get home. Emily and Cassidy have invited me to see a new movie that just came out.
"Emily and Cassidy?" Gwen says as we start down the road. "I thought you hated those girls."
"Not really," I say casually. "They're pretty nice actually. So how are things going with you and Kendall?"
Gwen's face turns pink at the mention of my brother. "Kendall," she giggles. "Ah, he's perfect. Things couldn't be better to be honest. So how are things with you and Derik?"
"Well," I hesitate. "Things are okay. I mean, he's been kinda busy lately, but he said he had to take care of somethings. All's good."
Gwen nods and stops the car in front of the theater. "Well have fun kiddo," she smiles at me. I smile and get out of the car.
After forty five minutes of waiting, I decide to text Emily and Cassidy. A minute later I get a response that they can't make it. Gwen has gone home by now, and my mother won't come pick me up (I know that for a fact).
Great, now what am I supposed to do? Walk home? I sigh and roll my eyes. Emily and Cassidy could have at least told me before I got here, that they weren't coming.
"Amanda?" A voice calls and I look up from my phone. Mr.- Noah. Noah Williams is sitting in the drivers seat of his car. Over the past few weeks, he's helped me with my work in English class, we've made small talk, but that's about it.
"Noah?" I can hear the perk of excitement in my voice. He smiles at me and I swear I can feel my heart skip a beat.
"Hey what's up?" He asks casually. "Oh some of my friends just stood me up," I say crossing my arms. "Hey if you don't mind, could you give me a ride?"
