Thank God. It's Friday. There's a down side of today though. I have to go to Derik's party with Hayley, and I doubt anyone else that I know will be there. Ash isn't coming, he has a date with his girlfriend Stacy tonight.
The bell rings and everyone rushes out to the buses, except for me. I can't find my writing journal for English class. I'm currently digging through my locker, trying to find it.
I feel something touch my back and I jump, letting out a small yelp. I turn around.
"Looking for something," Mr. Williams says, staring at me with eyes the color of a crystal clear river. "My, uh writing journal," I say quietly. I can feel myself blushing like crazy, and I can feel my heart pounding in my chest.
The corner of his mouth turns up, as he takes something out from behind his back. My writing journal. "I found this in the floor," he says and leans in closer to me. "I hope that you don't mind, but I read some of the, um, stories that you have in here. You are an excellent writer. You should be a journalist."
He holds the journal out to me. I hesitate before grabbing it. He smiles at me with shockingly white teeth. "Thank you," I manage to get my mouth to function. "I don't really mind you reading my work, but I'll never make it as a journalist. Well I've got to catch the bus so bye!"
I quickly grab my bag and rush out the door. I sigh, as I get on the bus. Just now I realize that I left my locker open and everything scattered on the floor. I make a groaning whining noise as I sit down next to Ash.
"Is something wrong?" Ash looks at concerned as he hands me an earbud. "Nothing," I sigh as I take it and put it in my ear.
