~A Daughter's Prayer~
Do you love me?
Do you even care?
You never left me,
But are you even there?
Liquor is your crutch,
Vodka is your friend.
The colder your touch,
Preceding the end.
You were always so strong before
Yet all I see is self deprecation
As you stagger your words and fall to the floor.
You seem to mistake my solicitude
For some assumption of ill- repute,
Or simply being rude...
But I'm here for you
As you always were for me
When you sang, "I see trees of green."
Please don't leave,
Please don't fall apart.
In the end what will be left,
But a daughters broken heart?
I miss you already.
I am really done
Hearing you cry
Watching you die.
But you're still the most important
And I know you deny that it's true
That I still love you no matter what,
We ALL do...
