'Here's the thing. Life is an endless series of train wrecks with only brief commercial-like breaks of happiness. This had been the ultimate commercial break. Which meant it was time to return to our regularly scheduled programming.' – Wade Wilson, Deadpool (2016)

While waiting for Raven to change, I finished the dishes and tried to not think about what had happened.
Footsteps was heard a few moments later and I turned around to see Raven wearing my hoodie with her flannel shirt on one hand and the other holding her phone which her eyes were glued on.
I got to admit, even though the hoodie was too big for her but I loved seeing her wear it. The sleeves of the hoodie reached her palm and looked adorable.
"Hey, I'm sorry but I have to go." Raven said as she looked up and stuffed her phone into her front pocket. She looked slightly worried though.
"Is everything okay?" I asked as I walked over to her.
"Yeah." She answered, looking unsure. "I have somewhere to be."
"Okay." I trailed. "Let me get my keys." I said, attempting to walk past her.
"Oh no." She stepped in front of me. "Leo called me and he's picking me up."
As she said that, a honk was heard outside.
"That must be him." she mumbled. "I'll see you on Monday and I'll give this back then." She gestured to the hoodie. She was about to walk out but I stopped her.
"No, keep it. It looks good on you." I said, trying to make my voice sound confident which worked. She seemed lost in words for a second so I leaned in and placed a light kiss on her cheek.
"See you on Monday."
Her cheek flushed in pink when I pulled back. She mustered a smile and walked out the door. I peeked at her through the window next to the door and saw how fast she ran to the car with Leo looking equally worried in the car. She got in and they speeded down the road.
At that point my curiosity matched the anxious feeling inside me.

The surprise went by smoothly. My mother's face when we immerged from our hiding place was priceless.
We ate half the cake that night and just kept the leftover in the fridge. We planned to go out for dinner the next day.
However, after wishing my mom and dad goodnight, I couldn't sleep. My face kept going back to how Raven's face was earlier. How worried she looked. Something happened and I was so mad that I couldn't help her.
I stirred and stirred but still couldn't sleep. I decided to give her a call but it went straight to voicemail.
After a while though, I fell asleep with her face still on my mind.
I woke up late the next day. I checked my phone for the time and it was almost noon and also I had a text message. It was from Raven.
Sorry I missed your call. Is everything okay?
I should be asking her that. I looked at the time I received that message and it was sent at 3.32 in the morning. What was she doing up so late?
