Nine
Monday rolled in like there's no tomorrow.
My blood test came out negative for the virus so the doctor just gave me some medicine to take after I had my three meals of the day.
My mother and I sent Raven home but not without Raven teasing me about my Buzz Lightyear pajama pants and my mother did nothing.
No matter what I was happy Raven was with me that day. I was currently walking towards her in the hallway. I felt much better but my mother forced me to take the medicine till it's finished.
Raven was exchanging her books when I saw her and I per usual, shamelessly checked her out. She was wearing a maroon shirt underneath a white and black stripped cardigan with a pair of black jeans and a pair of black booties.
Her hair was down with a few pieces pinned back. Somehow though, something was different about her. There was a small smile grazed on her lips when usually she never smiles.
I approached her and when she noticed me, her smile got even wider. She shuts her locker and turned towards me.
"What got you so happy?" I asked, smiling too. Her smile faltered and she crossed her arms.
"What? I can't be happy?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No, I didn't mean that, I was just wondering... god, why did I say that? I-um" I stumbled, reaching out for her. I didn't mean for it to come out like that.
To my surprise, she uncrossed her arms and laughed.
"I'm just messing with you." She said between her laughs. I narrowed my eyes at her as her laugh died down.
"You've been doing that a lot lately." I said as I glared at her. Again, she was completely unfazed by it.
"Yes, because it's fun." She said, tilting her head toward the side a little when she looked up at me. Her eyes shifted to something behind me and I followed her gaze. There wasn't anything but a group of freshman whispering and glancing at us.
"I wonder if those girls know about your fear of needles. They seems to be your biggest fans." Raven said, walking slowly towards them. My eyes bulged out of it socket and I immediately ran after her.
"Hey girls, did you know that your very own golden boy is-" Raven didn't get to finish her sentence as I clamped my hand over her mouth and another arm, I wrapped around her waist. She still continued to say something even if it comes out muffled while continue to drag her away from the now giggling freshmen. Raven let out a laugh, I assumed when we turned a corner.
I turned her around with the hand still over her mouth. Her eyes twinkled with happiness and it took my breath away. My other arm was still around her waist as she placed her hands on my chest.
"Now you have to promise me to keep my fear a secret. Okay?" I asked, moving my face closer to her. She didn't respond for a while but then she nodded. I slowly removed my hand and my fingers brushed her lips slightly. She had this huge grin on her face as she looked up at me.
"Promise?" I asked her.
"Promise." She said as the bell rang. She pulled away from me and gave me heartwarming smile before walking to her class.
My heart was drumming like crazy ever since we stood there. I didn't know what she was doing to me but I liked it.
