Twenty-three
A week has passed and I had help Raven with her father recently. I would sometimes bring lunch for her when she spent her weekend with her father. We would have dinner at the hospital cafeteria later.
Amber hasn't really bothered us for a while but she did sent glares in our direction every now and then. The boys question me about the rumors that were surfacing about Raven and I. I told them the truth of course and they understood and kept it a secret.
It was Friday and Raven and I just walked out of Biology. The game was tonight and I wanted her to come and watch.
"Hey, what are you doing tonight?" I asked Raven.
"Eat." She shrugged. "Probably while watching Netflix." She answered.
"Well isn't that fun." I said sarcastically, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. "Come to the football game tonight?" I asked her.
"It is fun." She defended. "I don't know; eating sounds way better that going to the game."
"Oh come on, watching me is better than eating." I told her as we stepped out of school.
"No, no it's not." She answered with wide eyes.
"Okay fine." I said. "Just come and support me tonight." I pleaded.
"Fine." She sighed. "I'll see you tonight."
"I'll pick you up." she hesitated at first before nodding her head. Ever since what happened last week, she gets more anxious when sitting in a car. I would offer to give her a ride home but she would always decline.
I leaned and planted a kiss on her forehead before she walked to the bus stop. It had become a routine of some sort whenever we would go our separate ways. She didn't mind and I sure as hell didn't mind either.
======
I parked near Raven's apartment and walked up. I knocked on the door and waited for her to answer.
Raven opened the door wearing a black v neck shirt with washed ripped jeans and combat boots. Her hair was up in a messy ponytail with a few strands framing her face. She told me to wait for a second as she went to get her phone and jacket.
An idea popped in my head and told her not to bring the jacket because it was quite warm outside. Actually, it was slightly freezing and I just wanted her to wear my varsity jacket so that she can show off that I belong to her.
She locked her car door and as we stepped outside, she immediately hugged herself as she rushed towards my car.
"Warm really?" she mumbled at me before getting inside the car.
I turned the heater on for her and she immediately slumped in her sit. We drove to school and it was already packed. I parked my car next to Alex's and we got out. I went to the trunk and grabbed my bag and varsity jacket.
The boys were chatting with themselves by the hood of Alex's car. Raven waited for me till I got my stuff. Her face was flushed at the coldness of tonight.
I went behind her and placed my jacket on her shoulders. She looked at it before looking at me.
"You told me not to wear a jacket on purpose." She stated as she narrowed her eyes at me. I gave her sheepish smile before walking towards the boys. Raven walked behind me later; wearing the jacket properly.
