Eight
Once I reached home, the rain was still pouring heavily. I parked the car and made a run for it to the house but dropped my keys before I could reach the porch. I quickly ran back to retrieve the keys and ran towards my house, almost fall face first on the pathway.
I stepped on the porch, almost completely soaked. I prayed to god I won't get sick. I placed my bag by the door and went to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and searched for something to eat.
There were some leftover pasta but I was craving some pizza. I pulled out my phone and called the pizzeria downtown.
While waiting for it to arrive, I went up and took a shower. In the shower, my mind drifts off to Alana. I couldn't believe she would do something like that and if she thinks I belong to her then she was dead wrong. I felt incredibly bad after seeing Raven's face but the image of her at the gym flooded my mind, including the moment we had in the car a few hours ago. I regretted not kissing her right there but I didn't want to jeopardize our friendship.
Shaking my head, I finished showering and stepped out of the bathroom. Before I could even reach my closet, an itching feeling creeped up my nose followed by a sneeze.
Oh no.

I blow my nose into the tissue as I lay in bed, shirtless with the pizza box next to me. I had only eaten half of it since I couldn't stop sneezing.
A few more tissues later, I heard my mother yelling that dinner was ready. I didn't have the energy to respond. I guess she was wondering why I didn't say anything as she burst in to my room, still in her nurse outfit.
When her eyes landed on me, worry washed her face as she rushed towards me.
"Trevor, what happened?" she asked as she placed her hand on my forehead. "You have a slight fever. Were you playing in the rain?" She asked accusingly.
"No." I managed to choke out. "It was raining heavily when I came home. I made a run for it but dropped my keys. I was soaked when I stepped inside the house." My voice came out hoarse and my throat started hurting.
"Looks like you have already eaten." She said, eyeing the pizza box. I gave her a sheepish smile in return.
"I'll go make you some soup." She said, ready to get up. I wasn't in the mood to eat anything else as my eyes started to get heavy.
"Thanks mom, but I just want to go to sleep." I mumbled to her, pulling the comforter higher on my body.
She nodded and cleaned up the tissues before leaning down and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "Get some rest. You don't have to go to school tomorrow."
A part of me was happy I didn't get to go to school but a bigger part of me was disappointed that I won't get to see Raven and also confront Alana.
All I did was nod. The last thing I remembered was the sound of the door closing before I dreamed of the piercing green eyes of the jet black haired girl.

I forgot to shut the alarm off from my phone since I destroyed my alarm clock. So here I was, searching my bed for my phone. I feel a little bit better but still I had no energy to go to school.
I heard a thud signaling my phone had dropped on the floor. I reached out my hand and retrieved it without leaving the bed.
I collapsed back on my pillow and shut the alarm off. Looking at the time which was 7 in the morning, I went back to sleep.
