Chapter Twenty-Two

Shai's POV

Theo decided to stay with me for the rest of filming. I'm so glad he did, I don't know what I would have done without him. He was so supportive.

We flew back to California this morning. Our flight was at 2 am so we slept some of the time. Ansel sat with us on the plane and we watched a movie.

Right now Theo and I are waiting to do a divergent interview. Whenever we do interviews I just try to be myself. I want the world to see me as who I actually am, not the character I am portraying.

"Shailene? Theo?" A lady says coming out of the interview room. "They are ready for you."

Theo grabs my hand and we walk to the door.

"Thanks," he says as we walk past the door.

Host: Okay, so I haven't met you guys before, but o enjoyed watching some of your past interview because you seemed really down to earth, both of you. Are you quite ready for all the fan attention you're about to get and all the madness?
Theo: Ummmmm,
Shai: I feel like, you know, you never can, like you never know what coming and what's not coming and to even think about that is...insane right now. We're both actually I think  just so busy that were just staying present in every moment and not thinking about all that. And also it's all relative like you know, you go to work and then you go home at the end of the day and your back to living your normal life.
Theo: Yeah, yeah it is all relative, and I, I guess the good thing is people are responding to the movie. You know it's not like our lives have been suddenly changed.
Host: Yeah I know. In the press room they had a a little video of you getting out of the car at the premiere and you just get out of the car and everyone's like, AHHHHH!
Theo: Hahaha, really?
Host: It's like madness.
Shai: That was tape real, you know, like with taped shows when they press a button and then everybody-
Theo: Yeah.
Host: And can you tell me your favorite line from the whole film?
Theo: Oh, uhhhmm...just cause I've heard it so many times-
Shai: Jai's?
Theo: Oh yeah that's a good one. Uh...
Shai: Or yours?
Theo: No, no. That's a good one. What do I say again? Uhhh... *snaps* "Stop playing with her," *in American accent*
Shai: Oh yeah, WOAH do that again?
Theo: No, you get it once.
Shai: One more time!
Theo: Umm
Shai: *trying to remember the line* "Choose carefully.." Or what is it? *in a weird accent* "Pick carefully, you don't get to pick again."
Theo: HAHAHAHAHAHA! Is that Indian?
Shai: What is that? What do you say?
Theo: I quite like, Oh yeah yeah, It's "Choose wisely, you don't get to pick again." Wait, no no. I actually remember what I say. Oh I quite like, Oh, "If I wanted to hurt you, I would've."
Shai: Oh yeah, yeah. You do a little like *does a head movement* "I would've" with your head.
Theo: Yeah, that's cause I'm trying to kiss you.
Shai: From like twenty feet away.
Theo: Yeah, I'm trying to give you like an air kiss.
Host: I like it when Peter was like "You're not gonna shoot me!" And then you were like, "Why does everyone keep saying that!"
Theo: Yeah that is a great line.
Shai: Paching!
Theo: And actually I like the line when you say um,"It's obviously because your so personable" or whatever.
Shai: Oh yeah that was fun.
Theo: Yeah.
Host: So this film, it touches on some classic teen issues like finding your identity, really fancying people. Did you find you could really identify with your characters?
Theo: Yeah, big time. I'm definitely sort of parallel with my character and myself. In a good way you've got to bring a little bit of that to every character you do, but it betters yourself. Inevitably because you can't not, but also you know you find elements that you can use, but yeah I mean in treks of your story *motions to Shai* as well it's like, that is a big theme especially to young people. About finding your self, and identity, and realizing that not putting is not necessarily bad.
Shai: Mhhm.
Host: Could you relate to like the cringe factor of really fancying someone and not really wanting them to know but then they find out?
Shai: The cool thing about Tris and Four's relationship is that they both sort of find out organically. You know that they, uhh,mite not necessarily that they have a quote on quote crush on one another. It's that the really respect one another. And they trust one another. And through that blossom it blossoms into a relationship. Obviously they have a physical attraction to one another but that's not what all of the um chemistry comes from.
Theo: Yeah, and it takes a while for them to be even kind of, you know anything to happen really. So you know there's only one kiss scene which is, which is quite good in a way because it's just, there's a payoff. And then it doesn't kind of over do it.
Shai: And in the kiss scene Tris says, "I don't wanna go too fast." Which is super sweet you know I think that that's-
Theo: Yeah because someone said that to me actually, that that was very realistic and well-
Shai: She just had her first kiss, she's not gonna loose her virginity at the same time.
Theo: Yeah, she's not gonna be like *snaps fingers* "I'll take you to bed now."
Shai: Yeah, I mean she could be, that would be a shocker. But that's not how it happens in real life most of the time, I don't think. Didn't happen that way for me. Ha.
Host: No, me neither. It seems realistic. And before you leave, you must have had this a lot but in real life what faction do you most identify with?
Theo: GRYFFINDOR!
Shai: Ha, SLYTHERIN! Umm. Actually for Harry Potter what would you be?
Theo: Gryffindor, because it's the cool one.
Shai: I would be Gryffindor I think too, right?
Theo: Yeah. *looks at host* Right sorry, uhhhh-
Shai: Dauntless!
Theo: I may be a bit of Erudite because their Kind of their literal thinkers, yeah.
Host: I would've gone with Slytherin for Harry Potter.
Theo: Really?
Host: They just had so much fun and I mean they were mean-
Theo: There also the wealthy ones aren't they?
Host: Yeah.
Theo: Yeah they got some old school money....old money.
Host: They knew where all the secret chambers were, I don't know.
Theo: Still had the heir.
Host: Yeah, lovely to meet you. * shakes Theo's hand, high fives Shai*
Shai: Nice to meet you.

This interview was difficult to write, because I had to flip back and forth between you tube and wattpad, so I hope you guys liked it.
