Can't Help Falling In Love

Chapter Thirty-Nine

Shai's POV

It's been about a week since Theo and I found out about the baby. We've been ecstatic and I already can't wait for our little boy or girl to come into the world. Although I am nervous about being a mom, I am beyond excited.

Theo feels the same way. He says he doesn't care the gender but I think I can tell he wants a girl. He wants to spoil her rotten and treat her like a princess. I know we'll both love him or her no matter what, but I am secretly hoping for a girl now too.

When we went to the appointment the doctor explained how the next nine months would go and how things should feel and when certain things should happen. I just now realized that we are not only having a baby but we have to get ready way before the baby is born. There has to be a room for the baby, we have to name him or her, we have to get furniture, we have to go for all the necessary appointments, and so much more.

Theo and I won't have to start thinking about names for a while, but I imagine it will be easy seeing as we agree on most things. The nursery should also be fairly simple. I was thinking maybe an ocean theme, since that is pretty neutral.

Theo is already taking excessive care of me. Every time I reach for a plate on the top shelf, or bend down to pick up the tv remote he insists he does it instead. He's so careful of me and the baby. He doesn't want anything to happen. Even though I tell him he doesn't have to worry, he still takes care in everything I do.

We haven't told either of our families yet, but we invited them both to come visit, so we could tell them in person. My mom and brother should be here shortly, and Theo's whole family is flying in tomorrow.

Our house is way too small for everyone so they are staying in hotels. But, tomorrow everyone is coming over for dinner and we plan to tell them then. I think everyone will be supportive. My mother has always approved of my decisions in life, and she's not easily upset. I'm not sure how to feel about Theo's family. I feel confident that his parents like me, but I haven't really got to know any of his siblings. I did only get to meet them all a few times.

Theo's brother William is married to Sasha, and they are expecting twin boys very soon. I think she will be easy to get along with, since now we will have lots in common that we can talk about. I'll be able to ask her lots of questions. Of course I could ask my mom or Theo's, but I feel this could be a good way for Sasha and I to connect.

Theo also has another brother, Edward, who's married to Brianna. They're also expecting. I'm pretty sure they are having a girl. I could talk to Brianna, too.

I am sitting on the couch snuggled into Theo's chest when the doorbell rings. He pauses the movie we are watching and I hop up.

"They're here!" I exclaim.

Theo chuckles and follows me towards the door. I swing it open and see my mom and Tanner standing in front of me.

"Mom!" I yell, embracing her. I tear up the second she hugs me tight. I miss her so much.

"I've missed you, Shai." She says, reading my mind.

"I miss you too , mom."

"Hello?" Tanner says. "I'm here too."

I laugh and move to hug him.

"Mrs. Woodley," I hear Theo say. "It's nice to see you."

"How many times do I have to tell you? Call me Lori." She sighs.

Theo laughs and stands next to me. I show my mom and Tanner to our guest bedroom, and they make themselves at home.

"I'm so happy," I whisper to Theo.
