My heart stops as Theo lifts the blind fold off my skin. Tears reach the surface of my eyes and I don't even try holding them back. I can't believe he went to all this trouble for me.
Flashback
This morning when I woke up Theo told me he was taking me on a date later tonight.
"Theo," I said. "You don't have to do that. I am perfectly happy being here at home with you."
But, as always, he insisted. He told me to wear something nice and to be ready at 7:00 sharp. He said he and to go out for the day.
I was shocked to hear he was leaving me alone all day at home. To be honest my emotions were stuck between, angry and curious.
Why would say he's taking me out for a nice date and then leave? What if this is his way of saying he's leaving me? I knew I wasn't enough for him. He deserves better.
Theo must have noticed the sad expression on my face because he came over and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Nothing," I whispered.
"Shai," he began, "I know you better than anyone else. I am positive there is something wrong."
He paused then continued, "You can tell me anything, you know that right? Shai, I would never judge you for anything. I love you so much and I don't know what I'd do without you."
I turned to face him.
"I love you so much, Theo. But my biggest fear is one day you will realize I am not enough. There is someone better out there. You deserve the best of the best and I am not it." I sighed.
"Shailene Diann Woodley, I promise on my life I will never leave you. You are the most important thing in the world to me. I am never letting you go, no matter what I might have to do to keep you. It's a privilege to be loved by someone as special as you. You are my world. No, you are my universe, Shai. And I couldn't survive without you."
A tear fell down my check. Theo lifted his hand and caressed my cheek. He used his thumb to swipe away the tiny droplets of water racing down my skin.
"I love you so much." I whispered.
"I love you more." He said.
"Impossible." I replied.
I walked to kitchen and began cleaning. Theo kissed me on the cheek and said goodbye before leaving.
All day I cooked, cleaned, did laundry, and finally got ready for our date.
I decided on a red dress. It was tight and ended just after my knees. It showed some cleavage, but it wasn't to much. I chose black high heals to go along and left my hair down and natural.

I dabbled a little bit of make up on and just as I finished the doorbell rang.
I took a final glance at myself before heading to the entryway. When I opened the door Theo was wearing a gorgeous tuxedo he must have picked up today. He looked so handsome.
"Wow," he said. "You look gorgeous, Shailene."
I blushed and thanked him before we headed out.
End Flashback
Theo is the most amazing man I have ever met. I can't believe he prepared everything for me.
Outside our apartment building there is a beautiful gazebo used for parties or gatherings. Theo must have reserved this spot just for us. A lovely table rests in the middle of the floor, and food is placed neatly on top.
"Theo," I sigh. "I can't believe you did this all for me."
"It's only the beginning," he states. He softly places a kiss on temple before pulling out my chair.
"Thank you," I say.
He sits down and before I know it we are lost in conversation. We talk about filming, us, the food, the nature around us, everything.
I am in awe over this man. I love him so much.
When we finish the meal Theo stand up and tells me to wait while he goes inside to get something.
I wonder what it could be. Oh no, I hope he isn't proposing. I love him but it's too soon.
Soon Theo returns with a box. It's wrapped in orange and yellow paper.
"Here," he says handing me the box. "And early birthday present."
It is then that I realize, there is exactly a month until my birthday; November 15th.
A smile spreads on my face and I tear away the paper.
Inside is a gray box. I open it and inside lays two plane tickets to Simi Valley, California.
I gasp. Tears run down my face.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I scream. I jump up and embrace Theo in the biggest hug imaginable. "This is the best gift ever! I love it!"
I plant my lips on his and font stop until I need air.
"We leave a two days before your birthday." He explains.
