Jane hovered at the top of the stair case, gazing down at the mass crowd of excited kids. Her neon green gaze drifted to the DJ, to the food table at the far wall, then over to Micheal.

He was still sitting at the same table as before. However, he had more food piled on his plate and a new glass of punch. His black curls still remained combed back and slick as his white mask contrasted his grayish green eyes. His black tux almost blended with the black walls, his red tie popped from his outfit.

He was talking to Kyle. Jane didn't realize that Michael was alone, she was focused on only him; lost in thought. Her eyes drifted to her best friend since, well, ever. Kyle was Jane's first friend back in grade school. His whole black, fancy outfit looked very nice on him, with his white mask and tie.

Michael and Kyle chatted away, laughing and smiling. Jane slowly made her way down the stairs, keeping her eyes on Michael. The only thing she could think of was if he has powers or not. She tried to think of other conversations she had with other people and the only people that brought up superheroes in a serious conversation was her. The only people who knew about Jane's powers was her family, no one else.

"Hey, Jane!" Kyle called, standing up from his chair bluntly and waved his right hand in the air like a kid on a sugar rush. Oh wait, he was a kid. Plus, the only thing he had on his plate was chocolate.

"You want some chocolate covered strawberries or cake?" Michael chimed in and smiled.

"Sure, thanks." Jane's fingers glided over the edge of her mask as she walked over to the table. She hesitated before sitting down, almost like she was making up her mind to run.

"So Jane, I never asked but how old are you turning?" Michael asked. His grayish green eyes glued to Jane's neon green ones, like two green monsters fighting to win. Michael's black curls twisted in a way that made Jane think of curly fries, causing her to smile.

"I'm turning twelve." She said flatly.

"Wow, older than Kyle I see. But not me, I turn thirteen in a few months." Michael boasted, puffing his chest and jabbing his thumb at his chest.

"I hate being the youngest one." Kyle grumbled under his breath. He crossed his arms over his chest and pouted, glaring down at the table. Jane and Michael scoffed and giggled.

"Well, I-" Jane started but was interrupted by the DJ.

"Happy Birthday to the birthday girl! This next song goes out to you, Jane." DJ Reduxx called into the mic, holding one hand to his headphones and the other gripping the mic. He played with the recorder for a second and an upbeat song came on. The kids in the crowd cheered and started dancing.

"Wanna dance?" Michael suggested, holding out his hand to her. She didn't even realize that he was up from his chair and by her side. Nevertheless, she couldn't hide her red cheeks, matching her red outfit. Of course, it adds to the shinny tomato look she had going on.

"Sure, why not." Jane placed her hand in his gently, stealing a glance over at Kyle who smirked and made an immature gesture to kissing and embracing, making kissing nosies with his eyes close and really getting into it.

Michael shoved and wiggled his way to the dance floor, pulling Jane right beside him. Once they made it to a right spot, they both started dancing; jumping, swinging, and singing loudly.

Jane's black curls bounced at every jump she made, twisting around her shoulders. Her red mask stayed glued to her face as her dress wiggling at every movement. She turned her neon green eyes over to Micheal, smiling like the joker.

His grayish green eyes read Jane like a book; happy about a new chapter in her life, excited that her friends made a perfect birthday for her, not worried about school life or her powers at the movement. He smiled back at her, knowing her secret as he read her mind.

He hasn't told anyone about his powers. Yes, he has powers. Keep up. Any who, the first time his powers of reading people's minds, telepathy and telekinesis, it kicked in around the first week school started. He couldn't take the voices and everyone's thoughts booming in his head, until he heard Jane's voice; something about her powers. He was twelve, about to turn thirteen. He may be older but Jane has had her powers longer, and so he thinks that she would help him.

"Hey, Jane! I have to tell you something." Michael yelled over the loud music.
