Jane was having an extremely weird day. It was her normal, everyday schedule and regular life of Jane; plus simultaneously slipping in walls and objects here and there, but that was when no one was around.
She was currently at lunch, with her three best friends but Michael and Lucy accompanied them today. But here's the weird thing; everyone was gossiping and chatting about Jane's birthday party. It was the main buzz everyone was talking about around school; even the teachers and upperclassmen listened to the stories. Most students are saying that it's the best party Kyle, Brianna, and Hannah have thrown.
The second thing, Jane got a complete makeover by Hannah. And Jane wasn't a happy camper about that. Mainly because Jane doesn't look like her normal self but instead like a barbie doll; bright pink dress, white shoes and panty hose, pearls around her neck with matching earrings, her black hair curled and light makeup around her neon green eyes.
"You look really pretty Jane." Michael complimented her. He brushed his black locks out of his grayish green eyes while he took his seat by Kyle. Once he sat down, he instantly started eating his pizza.
"Thanks, I feel like a barbie doll. First a shinny tomato at my party, now a barbie doll. Grrreeeat." Jane complained, poking her salad with her fork. She glanced down at her dress and frowned, almost wanting to dump her food all over it to make an excuse to change.
"Jane, shut up! You look beautiful at you're party and you're beautiful now." Hannah cooed, chewing on her apple. Her light crimson hair straightened and half up, her brown eyes searching for more food to steal.
"Yeah Jane, you shouldn't bring yourself down. You're really pretty and uniquely you." Brianna stated nonchalantly, her blue eyes glazing over the table while her strawberry blonde hair bundled back into a ponytail.
"Thanks. Again, but-"
"Jane Quintela, please come to the front office. Jane Quintela. Please come to the front office, thank you." A woman's voice boomed from the speakers all around the school.
A lot of the students in the lunch room stared at Jane, murmuring to other acquaintances about what the announcement was about. Jane just flushed red and panicked, hoping it was nothing bad. This was her first time being called up to the front office and she didn't now how to react. Brianna saw her braking down and stress out, so she packed up Jane's book bag and cleaned up her tray. She then grabbed Jane's forearm, making her stand, and guiding her to the office.
And while all this was happening, Jane was in Autopilot. She let Brianna guide her to wherever. Her mind was a blank and she mindlessly followed her friend. She was like a pinball in a pinball machine; being thrown around and pushed everywhere. Not really.
"Miss Quintela, please come in." Her principal ordered.
Jane immediately sat down and hugged her bag like it was a teddy bear.
"Now, you're not in trouble or anything but I would like to talk to you about your situation at home." The principal broke the ice, leaning her elbows on her desk.
"Situation? At home?" Jane said slowly.
"Yes. Is your father able to give you everything necessary towards school and your personal desires?"
"Yes. And I don't think I'm comfortable going any further, Ma'am." Jane snapped, trying to refrain herself from exploding. She knew her father being a single parent was hard, and she was grateful for everything she got. However, having even the principal of her school sticking her nose in her family attire cased a fury blaze in her heart.
"Right, of course. By the way, your father is here to pick you up. I think you have a doctor's appointment or something." Her principal swatted her away, looking down at the papers on her desk.
Jane thanked her and left, going to the lobby of the front office. Once she spotted her father, sitting in the corner waiting patiently, he smiled brightly. The two of them marched to their truck and drove out of the parking lot.
"So pa? I have some type of appointment? Doctor's or dentist?" Jane sighed and slumped in her seat. She hated the doctor's and dentist, well, just the process of waiting in a cold lobby.
"No and no. You have an appointment with a super." He smiled, driving safely and quickly to their house.
"What?! No way?" Jane screamed with delight. "Who?! Why? What? Why?" She wiggled in her seat, threw her bag on the floor board and jumped up and down with pure excitement.
"You'll see."
