She sat there on Mrs Jones couch in a frozen wake. She finally placed her tea cup down on the coffee table, avoiding eye contact with Candice and her sons, and she tried to think of a way out of her situation.

I can tell her that I have to pack and that I have school tomorrow, which I do. Or that I'm feeling sick and that I need to go home. Think Liz, think!

"So, Elizabeth. Do you have a boyfriend?" Candice asked out of the blue. Which got her head out of the gutter and back to reality. Even so, she still didn't want to answer.

"Yes. No, I mean no! I don't have a boyfriend. I still think I'm too young ma'am." Liz corrected. The two sons, Wesley and Scott, smirked and hope all British girls were as entertaining as her.

"To bad, you have a perfect body. And lovely blue eyes. Any boy would be lucky to have you, in due time, of course." Candice cooed, sipping her tea lightly before turning to her husband to smile and tip her chin higher like she was the Queen.

"I'm flattered. Thank you. I'm thirteen and I still have a while to go before I even start to ponder about boys ma'am." Elizabeth barked lightly, hoping not to offend her host.

"Oh, pish posh. You're at the perfect age to start thing about boys." Phillip jumped in. Candice reached over and grasped his hand, it looked like they were about to sell Liz off to pirates!

"So, umm, you have such a lovely and comfortable home. I fancy your carpets and antique wooden furniture." Liz changed the subject, glancing around the living room to fully sell it.

"Thank you dear. It was all my grandmother's. She passed them down to me once she passed, sweet old thing she was." Candice giggled, waving her hand in front of her like an annoying fly pestered her.

"I also noticed your barn. Do you have any breeds?" Liz asked, leaning her elbows on her knees.

"Oh, yes. We have a couple actually. But we need to expand the barn soon." Scott said. He looked into Elizabeth's eyes and narrowed his for a second. "Would you like to see our horses?"

Elizabeth couldn't have been any happier. To get away from Candice was her fist priority, her second was to get home. She smiled and wiggled close to the edge of the couch.

"Oh yes! I would love too." She responded.

"Oh no, that simply can't do. I don't want that radiant dress of yours to get dingy." Candice waled. She griped onto Phillip's hand to get back up on her pleading, which worked.

"It's alright. I rode here on Glace who is always filthy, and I never mind a little dust. I do truly appreciate your invitation and great hospitality but I must be going. I have school tomorrow and I have to pack to go back to my parents house." Elizabeth stood up, brushing her dress off, and sidestepped her way to the door. The two brothers stood up also, escorting her out.

"Elizabeth Goodwin! Sit down." Candice growled. Her beauty and elegant expression twisted crude and harsh.

Liz, on the other hand, was too shocked to move. As was Wesley and Scott, who have never heard their mother order anyone around before.

"Now, I did indeed ask Mrs Locket to have you today, to have lunch together and here you are trying to high tail out of here. Are you not going to stay for lunch?" Candice pleaded, looking like she was close to balling her eyes out.

"My deepest apologies! I never meant to be rude, of course I will stay for lunch." Elizabeth sighed in defeat, hovering behind the back side of the couch.

"Goody then. Wesley. Scott. Will the both of you please set the table? Phillip dear, will you help me in the kitchen?" Candice ordered, her husband nodded and lingered into the kitchen. The two sons laughed and hit each other playfully until they got to work.

Elizabeth was left alone on a strangers couch. She annoyingly flipped her frizzy blonde hair over her shoulder and played with her ribbon bow around her waist. She felt awkward be alone in someone else's house, like she didn't belong there.
