Chapter 20:

Today Toby and I were getting married. Toby had left at 9 a.m. to get his suit and have a bachelor party. I hoped that he wouldn't get drunk. I wasn't really worried about it but I kept it noted in my mind. Anyways, I was having my bachelorette party at 10 a.m. I got up at 8 this morning and ate breakfast and got dressed.

10 o' clock:

The doorbell rang. I opened the door.

"Hey, soon-to-be wife!," Kathryn said.

"Hi! Come in, come in," I said.

"Ready for the big day?" she asked.

"Yeah, I mean, I still have to get my hair done and my dress on" I laughed.

We walked over to the couch and sat down until I heard the doorbell ring again. I got up and opened the door. It was Angie.

"Hi, come in" I motioned inside.

"Thank you" she said.

I hadn't seen Angie in 8 years and I wondered how she was. 10 other girls came over and I had all 11 of the bridesmaids here. Kathryn was my maid of honor. We talked and drank coffee. Angie was talking about her fiancé and how they met. I wondered how Toby was doing at his party. I had never seen him in a tuxedo before, so it was going to be a surprise for me.

At 11 o' clock, the girls and I went to get our hair and nails done. We were all getting French tips and my hair was going to be straightened with white crystals going throughout. The bridesmaids dresses were ice blue and their hair was going to be curled. I was so excited and nervous at the same time.

11:50 a.m.:

Ten minutes until the wedding begins. It's a pretty cold day outside and the church parking lot is already filling up.

12:00 p.m.:

The wedding begins. I hear the music on the organ playing traditional wedding music. My heart is racing. I look at my bridesmaids for one last time, give a thumbs up, and smile. I see each girl walk down the aisle with the groomsmen. I smile knowing that it's going to be my turn to walk down the aisle for the first time. I feel someone tap my shoulder and I turn around. It's Jackie! I wave to her and smile. She grabs my arm and my dad grabs my other arm. They look at each other and smile. I look at my dad and he kisses my forehead. I look at Jackie and she mouths the words, "You're going to do great!." I smile at her. A friend of mine looks at me and gives the thumbs up to walk down the aisle. Jackie, my dad, and I all start walking down the aisle. Everyone in the audience looks at me and I look down, nervous. I look back up and see Toby smiling and looking at me. I grin. I can't help but smile from cheek to cheek. My mind clutters with thoughts of love and what's going to happen next. We stop walking and my dad and Jackie both hug me and kiss me on the forehead. I feel like I'm going to cry but I don't. I walk up and stand across from Toby. He whispers, "Hi" and smiles. I smile back at him and look at the pastor. Toby and I made vows to each other instead of the traditional sayings. Toby pulls his vow out from the pocket in his jacket and reads it.

"I want Aurora to be happy with me. I never want her to suffer like she did so many years ago. How she dealt with me, I don't know. I'm happy to know that she's going to be mine forever. I can't see myself with anybody else and I truly mean that from the bottom of my heart. I love you, Aurora" he said.

I looked at him and smiled, then pulled out my paper.

"Toby, I love you and don't want to be with anyone else. You've helped me through the tough times and I helped you. We need each other and that's a fact. We will be forever together and nothing will tear us apart. If getting stabbed can't break us, then nothing can. I know that mother is smiling down from the heavens knowing I made the right choice to marry you. From this day on, I can love and live with you. I love you, Toby" I read aloud.
