Promises and Travelling

Chapter 12:

Toby and I were having so much fun in London. My dad had taken us shopping at the mall and Toby and I bought a ton of clothes and knick-knacks. Toby bought souvenirs for his mom and I bought myself some since I didn't have anyone to give souvenirs too. Then my dad took us to a popular restaurant in the center of the city. They had delicious macaroons. After we went out to eat we saw some popular tourist sights like the Tower of London. It was beautiful and there were quite a bit of people there. Toby turned to me when we were riding the London Eye.

"Hi" he said.

"Hey" I smiled back.

He picked up my hands and looked at me.

"I love you" he said.

He grabbed my waist and pulled me into his arms. He sat there, hugging me. I pulled back, looked at him, and kissed him. When I kissed him the Ferris Wheel stopped at the top and we both looked out at the whole city. We looked back at each other.

"It sure is beautiful up here" I said.

"Not as beautiful as you" Toby said, looking me in the eyes. He smiled, put his arm around me, and pulled me closer. I laid my head on his shoulder. I put my left hand on his leg and my right hand on his chest. He was still really warm. Toby put his hand in his pocket and pulled out a box.

"I have something for you that I've been saving ever since we met" Toby said.

"I just knew that you were the one for me and I bought right after I went home the day I came over. While I was looking at your Gameboy, I also saw your rings and looked at the size. The size should be the same as your other rings" he opened the box.

It was a ring that said promise, love, and happiness.

"Here you go. It's a promise ring. I have one too" he continued to say. He put the ring on my ring finger. It fit perfectly. Then, he handed me a box and I opened it. It was his promise ring. It said promise, safety, and undying love. I picked up the ring and put it on his ring finger. Then, I snuggled back into his arms and he kissed the top of my head. I patted his chest and traced his jaw line.

The ride ended and we got off. We held hands, looked at each other, then looked at the ground cause we were both blushing. We looked back up and my dad was smiling at us. We both smiled and waved at him.

"How was it?" my dad asked us.

"Good." I didn't want to tell my dad about the promise rings. I didn't know if he wanted us to be that into a relationship. Truth is, we both loved and wanted each other. He protected me during the unsafe times and he was my friend through it all. He would protect me no matter what. I was there for him as guidance and support. I was also there for love and protection. I would protect him as well. Together, we created a bubble of defense that could rarely be broken.

We walked to the car together and went home for lunch. It was Saturday. Tomorrow Toby and I would leave around 1 in the afternoon and we would get back around 10 or 11 at night. Even though London was beyond beautiful I was ready to be back in the US and of course, go back to school.

The ride home was rather quiet. Toby and I had our hands together and we were looking out our own windows. My dad had the radio on and it was playing music I never heard of. Most were British artists but I still didn't know them. I listened to all the inspiring pop music. I didn't mind the music but I didn't know who anyone was so, it didn't help. When we got home, my dad made some soup. It was rather cold in London like I thought it would be. Toby was wearing his Tobuscus hoodie. His blue one, it was his favorite and his green Tobuscus shirt, which was also his favorite.
