I sat in Terrance's Ranger with him driving, Thea and April in the back seat and me in the passenger seat. He was going to drop Thea to school and April to the bus route, after he dropped me to class. Thea attended St. Joseph's Convent and was currently in form 5, preparing for exams in May-June.
"So, Thea, what subjects are you doing?" I asked her. It was a bad time to stir up conversation since I was coming out of the vehicle in less than twenty minutes.
"Um, Music, Art, Maths, English A&B, Biology, Add Maths, Spanish, History and Physics." She said and I turned around to look at her. "What subjects did you do?" She asked.
"Maths, Add Maths, English A, Physics, Chemistry, TD, Spanish and POB."
"You wanted to do engineering?" She asked and I turned back around.
"I thought I wanted to do it." I said softly and looked out the window.
"What happened?" My arms folded across my chest.
"Do you need help with Add Maths?" I asked as a way to dodge her question.
"You could help?"
"Well when I did it it was Cambridge, but I did Pure Maths as well. Yeah, I could help you."
"I heard Cambridge was hard. What did you get in it?" She leaned forward so her head was in between the seats.
"I got a B. It isn't that bad." I said shrugging. I turned to look at her and she was gaping at me.
"A B. What did you get in Pure Maths?"
"1's. For both units."
"You are a Maths God. My word. What subjects did you do for CAPE?"
"Physics, Pure and GMED." I said and before she could say anything else, Terrance got out his side and made his way to my door. He opened the door for me and I stared at him. He held out a hand to help me out and I took his hand and stepped down, then turned back to the car to grab my bag and when I turned back around, he stole a kiss. There were awes from inside the car and I rolled my eyes before stepping around him and walking away.
"Have a good day marshmallow." He said with a smile. I looked back at him and rolled my eyes.
"Same to you Terry." I turned back around and continued walking towards my first class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I was walking out of my lecture when someone shouted my name.
"Gwyn!" I turned to see one of my classmates from psychology approach me.
"Hey Christian." I greeted him. Christian was a tall boy, about a year older than me, and he was all squish. His hair was short, cut close to his scalp and his brown eyes were adorned with glasses. Next to him was a red skinned girl with long hazel hair that was dyed at the ends. One side black and the other side red. She had gray eyes and a circular face and she wore a jacket that matched her hair.
"This is Harley, she wanted to meet you." Christian said and I looked up at him.
"Urgh, why?" I asked.
"Hi Gwyn, I'm Harley and I wanted to do an interview on you for my degree." She beamed and I watched Christian walk off.
"As in a bike?" I asked and she stared at me.
"As in Jokers lover, Harley Quinn. It's my name." She pondered for a second, "The bike is a Hurley, not Harley." A small blush tinted my cheeks but I ignored it.
"Your parents must be some Batman fans." Her eyes twinkled as though I just paid her a compliment.
"My mom is, my dad's more into Marvel."
"What a force." I started walking.
"What about you. What are you into?" She asked and I glanced back at her.
"Bad guys." I shrugged.
"Does that mean that you like the Joker?" She jumped out in front of me.
"It's a possibility." Her face fell. "Why so serious? I was only joking around." I continued walking.
"Where have you been all my life." She hugged me and I stiffened. She pulled back.
"Not a hugger, noted." She smiled at me and her eyes roamed my body. "Oh my God, you're engaged." She practically jumped for joy.
"Er, yeah." I moved the hair that the wind was blowing out of my face.
"I'd love to meet him."
"I'm sure you would."
"What faculty is he in?"
"None, he's a working man."
"Cool. So I have two questions for you." She said and I stopped walking.
"Shoot."
"May I have your full name, and can I come to your house this afternoon to interview you?"
"I live with him and his family, but I don't see why not. My name is Gwyndolyn Abigail Maya Samuels."
"What a pretty name. Harley Quinn Roberts at your service." She saluted me and I continued walking. "Wait, are you leaving now?"
"No, I have one more class. I'm leaving about 4:30."
"Okay, call me when you get home. My brother, Bruce, would drop me." I stopped and stared at the oddity.
"As in Batman?" I asked.
"As in Hulk." She frowned. I turned and continued walking back to the lecture room. "Gwyn, wait! Join me for lunch?" She asked and touched my shoulder. I rolled my shoulder, removing her hand and looked up at the sun.
"Where are you going?" I asked her and her face broke out in a grin.
"Off campus. There is this place called Yvette's that has some awesome homemade food." I contemplated her offer.
"I'm game."
