~Terrence~

I was sweating and betting big dollars that when I pulled Gwyn off the bed, the bomb wasn't going to explode. And I was right. The man I had thrown on the bed was just enough to cause the bomb not to trigger. I looked around the bare room and swore, there was nothing here I could use to stop the bleeding.

I hoisted her up in my arms and and craddled her to my chest as I pushed my way out the room and into the hallway. The gunshots increased and I took a left and ran out the way I had come hoping to God that I didn't get hit by a stray bullet. Footsteps came up on my left and I angled Gwyn away and readied myself to take an attack. I let out a breath when I saw that it was her father.

"I covering you." He said as we ran from the house and towards one of the empty cars that awaited us. I placed Gwyn on her back on the backseat and her father swore as he looked down at her. I didn't have time to dwell on how she looked. I closed the door and tried to make it to the drivers side but we were being shot at and I had to stick to the back side. I looked at the passenger door and went towards it before opening the door and getting in.

"Come on!" I shouted at Kevin and he came towards the door and then cursed before he tried to climb in while I was still climbing over. We struggled, but we made it into the B14 and I started the car and began the drive out of the house to the nearest hospital.

San Fernando General Hospital was not that busy and it was severely understaffed as Kevin and I came through the front doors of Emergency with Gwyn in my hands. The nurse that was there wasn't looking particularly interested into what I had to say and it wasn't until Kevin slammed his hand down and shouted at her did something happen.

They took her to a room in ICU and told me to sit outside in the orange waiting room. Kevin was with me and after another nurse came to fill out a chart for Gwyn did we really think about all that was happening.

"I told her to leave." Kevin was saying and he was shaking his head. I looked him over. He had blood on his jersey and on his pants, his shoes were covered in mud and his face had blood on it.

"Yeah, but she's stubborn." I resounded and he turned to look at me.

"If she listened, she wouldn't have been here." He stood and I watched him from my seat. I was irritated and deeply annoyed and this man was frustrating me. I hummed, there was no denying that if Gwyn had listened to him and left like he wanted her to, she would have been safe and we possibly wouldn't have been married now. I watched as he began pacing the room and started pulling on the hair on his head. "She should have left."

"Could you hush." I snapped. Him complaining about how whether she left would have been better and it wasn't going to heal her any faster.

"Watch yuh tone." I watched him.

"No. Stop talking about my wife like that. So what, she missed the opportunity to leave and travel somewhere because she didn't want to stop being happy. She got caught because her brother  your son turned against you. Ratted you out." I was breathless and heaving.

"But it was your job to keep her safe!"  His voice was raised.

"I was. Don't you think that I wasn't torn over the fact that she got kidnapped from our house. She should have been safe there, but my wife, my future almost died because of a fucking war neither of us wanted to be a part of." I was still sitting.

"You know what Matthews fuck off." He huffed and turned to leave the room.

"You know what, no." He turned to look back at me.

"What?"

"Tell me, why did you beat her?" It had been gnawing on the back of my mind for some time and I really really wanted to know what had possessed this man to beat his daughter.

"She had to be taught a lesson." He said after a very pregnant silence had passed. That was the icing on the cake. I lunged at him and pummeled him to the ground, I began choking him out of pure rage and out of what he had put Gwyn through.

"How could you hit a fucking woman." I was breathing heavy and I was shaking him by his neck. "You fucking misogynistic bastard." He bucked his hips attempting to buck me off and it cause my grip to loosen. He raised his head and head butt me causing my head to snap back and I groaned.

"You don't know shit." He hissed out and punched me in the face. I coughed before I gathered y bearings and went to punch him. His head snapped to the side and his knee came up to it me in my back and I cried out. Before I could retaliate someone was pulling me off of his and a security guard was restraining him.

"One ah alyuh hadda leave, or both of alyuh leave. This is a hospital." His gruff voice called out and I glared hard at Kevin.

"That's my daughter." He hissed out.

"That's my wife. You didn't want her." I snapped.

"You came to me-" I cut him off.

"She doesn't want you here. Just leave." My voice was surprisingly calm. We stared at each other for a long time.

"If anything happens to her, it's on your head." He shrugged off the guard and left. The person restraining me released me and I sat back down. I held my head in my hands and my mind wandered to my wife.

I drove her father away; I really wish I knew how she would feel about that...

I really wish none of this had happened...

Above all else, I really wished she was alright.
