"My mother said you have no taste." Terrance said as I plopped down next to him on the couch in the living room. I had went to the room and deposited my purse before I made my way back down to the living room.
After the first store, I checked out three other stores, each of which had nothing of interest to me. I had ended up going back to Bridal Solutions and giving the woman my number to call me if she saw anything else I might like. Isla had nothing else to say to me and she invited my mother over for the evening and my mother accepted. The two mothers left me and I wandered the mall a bit before heading to my car. They were already home when I pulled up.
"You should have seen the dress she wanted me to wear. It was not from the century." I said and placed my head on his chest. He laughed.
"At least I didn't get call about a murder." I looked up at him.
"She would have killed me?" I asked in horror.
"I don't know. You might kill her. You are a feisty one." I scoffed.
"Mostly harmless." He laughed and I glanced at the TV. "What are you watching?"
"Criminal Minds." He said and grabbed the remote and pulled up the guide. He flicked up through the guide and I watched as he settled on CSI: NY. "You mind?" He asked.
"I don't watch TV. Well apart from 47." I shrugged and pulled my feet to sling them across his own. He pulled his arm up and wrapped it across my shoulders and let it rest on my side.
"You don't watch TV?" He asked shocked for a second.
"I don't. It's a waste of time."
"It's a form of leisure." He tried.
"I cook for leisure or do work." I shrugged my shoulders.
"My God, I'm marrying a nerd." I giggled.
"I could have been a geek." I said and he changed the channel to Warner where Flash was showing.
"Then how do you know so much about the comics?" He asked and poked my side.
"Well, whenever Matthew was home and we were bonding, we'd watch TV. He only ever got me to sit down for half an hour."
"You'll watch Flash?" He asked.
"Yeah, Grant is cute." He looked down at me with a frown. "Barry."
"Should I be jealous?" He asked and I tilted my head up and kissed his chin.
"Nah, I'm monogamous and besides the chance of me meeting him is unlikely." I shrugged my shoulders.
"You don't know that. It could happen." He said. I pursed my lips.
"Considering both statements are conditional you consider logic or probability. Hence the chance of A occurring with B is, who knows, 0.65 chance." I shrugged and looked at the TV.
"Did you just prove me right or wrong?"
"Neither, I just stated. Oh, I love these ones." I said and continued staring at the TV.
"These what? Crossovers?"
"Yes. Flash and Arrow make a good team."
"What else do you watch?" He placed his head on top my head.
"Um, Cake Boss, Cupcake Wars, Triple D, Property Brothers. Oh and I like The Closer." I said and looked up at his as the show went on commercial.
"I guess we wouldn't have to fight over the remote." He teased and I smiled.
"Nah, you could kill your braincells. Fine by me." I stuck out a tongue at him and he raised an eyebrow.
"Speaking about that, Shay sent me the deats on the last house. Do you want to look at it?"
"No. I want to be surprised. You know, third times the charm." We lapsed into a comfortable silence as we watched the remainder of the episode and my mind wandered to my previous mission. The one I so carefully failed at.
"What do you want to watch?" He asked as the closing credits came on the screen.
"Are you a virgin?" The question came out abruptly and I glanced up at him sheepishly through my eyelashes.
"Uh, no." I frowned.
"That means you believe in pre-martial sex?" I asked.
"Yes." I fidgeted with my fingers not sure how to phrase my next question.
"So, um, how many?"
"How many what?" I looked up at him. His eyes were on the TV, watching whatever was showing on SyFy.
"People." I mumbled.
"You mean girls. And just 2." He said nonchalantly. He had sex with two girls before me, well what did that matter.
"Are you, you know clean?" He looked down at me with a heated gaze and I couldn't tell if he was angry.
"I don't have unprotected sex and before I came at your door, I made sure. Would you like the results as proof?" He snapped and sat up, moving his arm from around me.
"I didn't mean to offend. I was just curious." I said softly and led my eyes down to my lap. He took my legs off of his and stood.
"Curiosity killed the cat."
He walked out of the room and left me sitting there. I did nothing wrong. I just asked a simple innocent question but then again, I am Gwyn and I'm known to mess up things.
"Hey Gwyn." I looked up just as Harley and April walked into the living room.
"I bet Terrance put this nonsense on." April said rolling her eyes. She came to grab the remote and sat at my feet. "What were you guys watching before?"
"Flash." I said with a pout. Everything was good before.
"Are you guys going out tonight? I think a date is in order." Harley gushed coming to sit next to April.
"I don't know." I frowned.
"You guys should go out. Get out this house, go watch a movie and go eat out." Harley continued.
"We could." I said.
"No, you would. Terrance loves food. You love to cook, cook for him or take him out." April said.
"I don't know." I chewed on my bottom lip.
"Where is your phone?" April asked.
"Upstairs." I said and she jumped to her feet and ran towards the stairs with Harley hot on her trail. I got up and followed them and sat on the bed just as they crowded over my phone.
"What's the password?" Harley asked looking cross.
"Pass it." I said and they handed it over. I unlocked the phone and gave it back to them. April typed for a bit before dropping the phone on the bed and grabbing Harley's hand and leading her to the closet. She peered though my dresses before she settled on one.
It was black and white with a slit along the right thigh and it was ankle length. The left top half came down in white and the right half in black and they over crossed each other, where the midriff was lace but with black sheer in front of it. A white strip came back down from the back and swooped across the dress.
"This dress is the one." Harley said and April nodded.
"Do you have black heels or wedges?" April asked and I shook my head. She frowned before glancing at my foot. "What size are you?"
"A 7."
"So is Thea, good." She came towards me and looped m hand with hers and dragged me from the room. I managed to snatch my phone and glance at the screen.
Terry: 6 at April's door. It's a date.
