"Oh my God, you look amazing." April gushed into my ear as she helped me put the veil on my head. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. After that night, Terrance and I had nothing between us. I had the scars on my leg from our night of secrets and the ring on my finger to back up his promises. I hadn't heard anything from my immediate family till last night, which was a confirmation from my mother telling me her and my father were still coming to my wedding.

I had also arranged with a cousin of mine to have the reception by her house in the back of St. Augustine. She had a big yard and amazing views for great pictures. We had agreed on an late morning weeding and the ceremony was set to start at 11 and I was home now and Terrance was by his mother. I looked over myself in the mirror and brushed my hands down the dress.

My dress was an off the shoulder beast in off white with a V-cut in the bodice, the V in the front ran along my shoulders and along my back. The rest of the dress came down fitting until my big hips where it began flaring out into a lot of fabric which thankfully didn't make the dress heavy. The back of the dress began mid back and followed the same pattern. My heels were high and white with silver gems along the side. My hair had been put up into a kind of chignon where I had a little bang and gemmed hair pins holding the chignon in place.

"Here you go." Hadassah said and handed me a pair of silver tear dropped earrings nearly touching my neck. "Something borrowed."

"Something blue." Heather said and attached a blue clip to my hair to help attach the veil.

"Something new." Thea said and handed me a box with a silver watch in it. It was delicate and had a ring of gems around the face.

"They're so beautiful." I gasped and took the watch out of the box. "Help me put it on." I told her and she held my hand steadying it and helped clasped the watch unto my wrist.

"Do we have everything?" Harley asked looking me over and gushed. "Let me look at you." She fanned her face and looked as though she was about to have a heat stroke.

"Gwyn?" My mother called from the door and I turned to look at her. "I have a ring for you. It was my grandmothers own. She wore it on her wedding and I thought it would look perfect on you." She said and I watched as she came into the room and pulled the ring out of her purse and handed it to me. I stared at the gold ring which was less than a half inch thick, with diamonds swirling around a small pearl gem in the middle of the ring.

"It's beautiful." I said and I tried it on, settling it on my middle finger of my right hand,

"Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue." Harley said in a sing-song voice and jumped in her heels.

"Is that it" Tell me that's it. We need to leave now." April said. She walked off and came back calling someone on her phone. "Yeah, we're leaving now."

"I think we could go."

I sat in the back seat of my car, with April in the drivers seat, Harley next to me and Hadassah in the passengers seat. In my mother's car behind us were Heather, Thea, my mother and baby Marcus. The radio played soft tunes and I hummed to the song trying to alleviate my nerves.

"Are you ready to do this?" Harley asked, jumping in her seat.

"Why are you so hyper?" I asked as I glared at her out the side of the veil.

"Because you are getting married, it's going to be official." She bounced.

"It's been official for some time now actually." I said and rolled my eyes at her.

"I must admit, you are the best thing for Terrance, I've never seen him so focused on anyone before." April said and I knew she threw a glance my way. I blushed.

"Still disappointed that we didn't have a bachelorettes party." Harley said and I knew she was pouting. The lack of a party was my fault. The fact that I wasn't big into parties nor was I fond of being shot. Last night was also not a good night for us since Terrance had taken me out to celebrate my birthday and then dropped me home and left to go by his mother. We had ended the night with me falling asleep on him sometime after 11p.m.

"I was busy." I said with a blush and Hadassah awed.

"What did you do for your birthday?" She asked and I smiled.

"We had dinner."

"Boring!" April nearly screamed.

"That's all."

"Well we are getting married today, I guess why overdo the splendor when we'll be doing just that today." I defended him. Harley let out a squeal and I covered my ears. "For the love of God." April and Hadassah laughed and I shook my head.

"Gwyn are you ready?" April asked as she entered the parking lot for the church.

"Do I have a choice?" I laughed and rubbed my shoulder nervously.

"So, you wait here, your dad will take you out and the ceremony could roll as smooth as ever." April said and Harley leaned over to hug me.

"See you inside." She said and got out of the car, followed by Hadassah and finally April who left the car on.

I sat in silence contemplating on a scale of 1-10 how bad my nerves were. Terrance and I learnt a dance almost a week ago and I didn't know if it would go smooth or not, since we were still rough around the edges. I had missed him last night, it was strange waking up in the morning without his arms around me. I had fed Rex this morning and I even had time to sit and play with the puppy. What if he got cold feet? What if instead of 'I do', he says 'I don't'. I think I was sending myself mad.

A knock on the glass interrupted my thought process and I looked up at my father. He had on a black suit with a white tie and a small rose in his breast pocket. I took a deep breath and opened the door. He walked around, opened the drivers door, took off the car then came back to my side. He held out his elbow for me and I tentatively took it. He helped me to my feet and I straightened my dress.

"You look lovely." I smiled at him and my eyes watered.

"Thank you." He helped me adjust me veil and led me up the steps of the church.

"Are you ready?"

"As I'll ever be."
