Once upon a time, there was a King named Anakonos, who lived with his wife Mikoto. Two years after their wedding, they were graced with a young daughter named Corrin. Ecstatic, they invited the entire kingdom and seven fairies to the ceremony.

As everyone got seated, a woman with long dark hair entered the hall and sat down in the middle of the fairies' table. Her name was Rhajat, and she was the only person in the kingdom who wasn't invited to the ceremony. This angered her, as no one remembered that she was the fairy in the tower, and so she came here to seek payback.

After everyone was situated, the fairies stood up one by one and began to gift the girl with beauty, wisdom, kindness, singing abilities, and other gifts to make the princess lovelier. While the seventh fairy pondered a gift to give, Rhajat stood up.

"Your daughter is precious," Rhajat stated quietly. "It's a shame, really. When she turns 16, she'll prick a spindle and die."

Everyone gasped, but Rhajat smirked and disappeared. All of the fairies panicked, but the last one, named Lissa, stood up.

"I cannot reverse the effects," she admitted sadly. "However, King Anakonos, I can prevent her death." She waved her hand and continued. "When your daughter pricks her finger on the spindle, she will fall asleep for a 100 years, only to awakened by a prince."

King Anakonos nodded and looked at his servant. "Destroy all of the spinning wheels in the kingdom."

18 years passed, and King Anakonos and Queen Mikoto had to leave for a meeting. They bid their daughter Corrin farewell and left, leaving their daughter alone in the castle. Corrin, having nothing better to do, began to wander the castle to see if she could find something to occupy her time. She eventually came across an old woman in the basement, spinning away on a spinning wheel.

"What's this?" Corrin asked, fascinated by the machine in front of her.

"It's a spinning wheel," the old woman replied. "Would you like to try spinning?"

"Yes!" Corrin declared happily. She reached her finger out, and fulfilling the prophecy, pricked her finger on the spinning wheel and fell asleep.

"HELP!" The old woman yelled. "Someone help!"

Soldiers came down to see the young princess asleep. Weeping, they took away to show her body to her parents. After making sure that they were gone, the old woman became Rhajat and disappeared, satisfied with her work.

When King Anakonos and Queen Mikoto saw their daughter, they weeped uncontrollably at the lost of their child. They placed her in the finest room in the castle, surrounded by gold, silver, and jewels. King Anakonos placed his hand on his daughter's, and Mikoto kissed her daughter on her forehead.

"Goodbye, my precious girl," Mikoto whispered sadly. She grabbed Anakonos hand and left, running into Lissa at the entrance.

"Take good care of our daughter," Mikoto whispered as she left. "No one can enter this chamber."

Lissa nodded and looked at the princess. Closing her eyes, she looked into the future to see Corrin's fate.

"Mom! Dad! Where are you?" Corrin screeched. Everyone she loved was dead.
