Original Fairy Tale Name: Cendrillion (Kind of like the Vocaloid song XD)

Original Collector/Writer: Charles Perrault

Once upon a time, there was a widowed man by the name of Cornelius who married a woman by the name of Aversa. Aversa had two daughters - Brunnya and Idenn - who developed a new hobby after moving in. They tortured Marth, the daughter of Cornelius. They took her good clothes, broke her shoes, and made her do all of the housework. And every night, before she went to bed, Marth's stepsisters would say -

"You can't sleep here."

"But it's my room!" Marth protested.

And her stepsisters would proceed to hit her, causing Marth to flee to the kitchen, where she slept on the floor near the fireplace. This gave her stepsisters glee.

"Oh look," Brunnya taunted. "It's pretty little Cinderella, covered in ashes."

"The ashes make a lovely dress," Idenn added.

Marth couldn't do anything about it, so she would wash up the best she could and continue to clean. She didn't have anyone to confide in, as her stepmother encouraged her daughters' behavior, and her father denied any wrongdoing. Marth tended to avoid her father, as he hit her when she asked if she could run away.

And so Marth was alone.

After a few years, Prince Roy decided to host a ball to find a wife. A letter was sent to every girl, and this sent a flutter of hope through Marth.

A flutter of hope that was instantly crushed.

"Servants can't go to the ball, Martha," they taunted.

"I received a letter," she insisted.

"But it was addressed to our dad," Idenn replied.

Marth cursed. "I want to go,"

"You can't. Go clean the mirrors. There's a smudge on them," Brunnya commanded.

Marth sighed dejectedly. Just before she can clean it, Aversa strolled in.

"Idenn, Brunnya, it's time to go,"

The stepsisters eagerly followed their mother out of the room and towards the carriage, leaving poor Marth alone.

Once her family was out of the house, Marth dashed to the garden and burst into tears.

"I DON'T WANT TO STAY HERE!" She wailed. "I WANT TO GO TO THE BALL!"

She kept crying and was so distraught that she didn't notice that someone was hugging her. She kept sobbing until she heard someone say, "Don't cry."
