Layla Wilkes
So right after my game, Chris and I were just being our normal selves- ya know, joking around as usual- when out of no where, Gianna walks pass and says 'we're cute' and then Carter walks pass.
Of course the time that things aren't good between us and I'm trying to avoid him, he's constantly around.
And once again, of course when Chris actually has a problem with him he's around while the two of us are together.
"Aye wassup Carter?" Chris raises his voice looking in the same direction as me to where Carter was going pass and I mentally curse myself out in anger that this had to happen today of all days.
It's the weekend- a really nice Saturday afternoon, I literally just won my soccer game, and my parents are here.
If anything wild happens between the two of them right now, I swear I'm gonna be so pissed. All I wanna do is leave now, but with a hot headed boyfriend like mine... I know that that's not gonna happen.
I didn't even have to like Chris to know that he can fight because throughout our almost four years of high school, I've seen him fight and let's just say that they never end pretty. Even as his girlfriend, I'm not sure where that temper of his or the crazy amount of strength he seems to get while fighting even comes from.
"Chris chill out, please," I look up at him while entangling our fingers.
"Nah."
"What's good?" Carter says back and that's when I knew that this was just the start of the madness that I should have already expected to come. Hopefully, nothing crazy happens but knowing the two of them... I know that that's exactly what I need to be preparing myself for.
Christopher Brown
"What's good?" Carter responded to me and I wasn't really surprised. My aunt didn't raise no punk, but neither did my mama.
I pull my hand out of Layla's and walk a little closer to him as he walks a little closer to me so we kinda, sorta met half way while Layla stayed where she was standing doing I dunno what.
"So.. you like Layla? Like on more than just some best friend shit?"
He chuckles and turns his head to the left looking at nothing in particular in the distance before looking right back at me. "And if I do? So what?"
"So what?" I repeat what he said with my eyebrows furrowed. "So you just step on another nigga's toes then go on about ya business like everything's all good?"
"Man, everything is all good," he puts emphasis on 'is' while looking me in my eyes. "I know where I stand and that's all that matters but that don't mean Imma stop trying."
"Whatchu mean you not gon stop trying?" I scoff. "She mine. She been mine."
"She been yours?" Carter laughs. "Get over yourself, bruh. Y'all been together for like two days compared to our what? Almost four years?" He pauses and looks me up and down, squaring me up probably, then clenches his jaw. "And if you think she gon choose whatever y'all got going over me you got shit fucked up."
I straight up laugh and nod my head repeating what he said once again. "Oh I got shit fucked up? What about you nigga? Talking 'bout 'oh, Chris fucked Gigi and don't think he won't do the same thing to you' on some gossiping little girl type shit."
"Correct me if I'm wrong then. Did you not fuck Gianna?"
"Explain to me why is that any of your business??" I ask a counter-question. He sounds stupid. What does me and Gianna gotta do with him at all? Where does Carter even get involved in anything involving Gianna and I?
