"Is it bad that I miss soccer?" I look up at Chris.
It's been weeks since the season's been over, since we've won, and it just feels weird not playing as much anymore.
"Nah," he says back to me in a low, drowsy tone. "You went from playin' like everyday to not at all. That's reasonable."
We're at, what I guess is still considered, his parent's house watching something random on BET.
"When does that movie come out again?" He asks me in the same tone as before with the back of his hand over his eyes.
He's still.. waking up I guess from the nap we took.
As soon as school released we got food and headed straight here. Practically the whole time here we've been asleep up until about ten minutes ago.
"I don't know but I'm tired of seeing the commercial," I answer referring to the New Edition movie that they keep promoting.
"Shit, me too," he curses still drowsily.
After that we lay in a comfortable silence up until his dad, who must've gotten here a little while ago, calls him.
"Aye! Chris!"
"Yeah?" He raised his voice only a little bit and I can tell that he probably couldn't hear him.
When his dad doesn't say anything back, Chris huffs and I feel the bed move as he stands up.
Shirtless and in the same sweats and socks that he was asleep in, Chris heads out of the room seconds after he quickly told me that he'd be back.
In the mean time, I continue watching the random Tyler Perry movie that's finally back from commercial until I get bored with it.
I force myself out of Chris' bed to get my cell phone off his dresser and I stand there while I check my notifications.
Most of them were from Instagram and I had a couple text messages.
i heard back from USC! so.. jaylen just asked me out 😅
Both of those were from Allie and the second one surprised me from first reading it, but then I realized that with the amount of time that they spend together.. I should've saw it coming.
I text back: ahhh omg. how is it? & OOP what'd you say?
The other message that I actually intended on replying to read: wyd? and it was sent to me by Carter.
i just woke up from a nap. hbu?
Me and Carter have been trying to hang out like we used to and it's been sort of working out since I've been working on getting Chris more open to the idea.
