i'm so sorry for going ghost 😭 hopefully y'all don't hate me and still love Chris and Layla.

When I came into the house, I had plans on going straight to my room after telling my parents I was back home, but only my dad was in the living room so I chose to talk to him for a little while.

"Hey daddy," I say lowly as I sit next to him.

"What's going on, Jai?" He asks me as he looks down at me. "You dropped Allie off home?"

I pause before responding by nodding my head.

I'm so sick of lying about this, but I just don't know how my family will react if I just come right out with it and tell them that I never stopped dating Chris.

I stare at nothing in particular as I continue to think, but if it's bothering me... I probably shouldn't just keep it bottled up in me.

I mean.. this is my dad I'm talking about. I'm pretty sure that he's the most understanding person that I know, but he sided with my mom last time so this could result in different ways.

"Can I ask you a question?" I look up at him after a moment of silence spent with me thinking and with him watching TV.

"You just did..." He trails off, but his tone told me that he was joking so I only made a face. "Go ahead, Layla."

"Um," I stop to figure out how I wanna word this.

I'm not about to just come right out and say 'Oh, I've been behind you guys' backs dating someone who you told me that you don't want for me to be around. What do you think about that?"

I'd be stupid to do that so instead, I try making it general and hopefully he puts two and two together and I won't have to further explain.

"So, um. What if you told someone something super specific, but they didn't listen and sort of did the opposite?"

"You mean they went against the grain?"

I get the urge to chuckle at that which I do. "Yeah. They went against the grain. How would you react to that?"

"Depends," he says back. "Is it something important? Is it a big deal or nothing major?"

"Well... it's not major to me, but you might think it is."

"Mm," he sorta makes a face at what I said, but I'm not sure what it meant. "So you're the one who didn't listen?"

Welp.. there it is.

"Yeah..."

"What'd you do little girl?" He looks dead at me and it made me sigh.

"Y'all told me to stop being around someone, but I," I look away not wanting to see how disappointed he may look when I say this. "I didn't listen."

I didn't listen cause I couldn't.

We were growing closer by the day so how could I randomly say we're through when things were going so well?

"Someone, huh?" He repeats what I said. "It's that boy I bet."

Yeah, that boy.

The one that I look forward to talking to everyday. That boy that I'm becoming crazy about.

"And... if it is?" I look still don't look at him and there's silence for a second before he speaks up again.

"I'm not mad about it," he finally says. "I'm disappointed though cause you always listen to me."
