So earlier was at first, I guess I'll say... weird? Yeah, weird and the reason for that would be because me and Layla were just having a chill conversation until she out of no where was like 'Oh, I need to tell you something.'
That something was that she's been texting her ex for the last few days and at first I was as calm as I was gonna get, but then I sort of bossed Layla around to get what I wanted and it worked out in a way.
Usually she isn't so submissive and would actually go back and forth with me, but today.. I know that she knew she was wrong which is most likely the reason why she complied.
~Earlier That Day~
Layla began with, "So you know that old friend that I told you about when we were out the other day?"
"Yeah, what about her?" I ask back with my eyes still on the road.
I gotta head back to the school cause ya know... her parents don't like me. Who knows how they'd react if they saw my car outside their house?
"Yeah... about her," Layla repeats and looks down at her phone that sat in her lap. "This is about to sound so stupid..."
"You won't know how it's gonna sound until you say it. Wassup with you? Just say it."
She sighs and then as she speaks again, her eyes are back on me. "I have been texting someone from my past, but just not someone as simple as an old friend if you know what I mean."
I make a face as I stop at a red light and respond with, "I'd know what you mean if you'd just stop beating around the bush. If it's something bad, just say whatever it is cause if you think avoiding getting straight to the point is gonna make it less likely for me to get pissed, you wrong."
"I've been texting Simeon, but it's been simple. I can promise you that."
"Simeon? Football Simeon? Tall ass Simeon?" I ask back to back.
Layla nods her head then trails off. "Yeah."
That makes me chuckle and it makes sense why she's all nervous right now. "So your ex Simeon?"
"Yes, my ex, but Chris we've just been talking about our sports and the college application process and everything. That's all. He just wants to know how I am."
"Yeah? Well why he concerned? You got me. Shit's good for you right now."
"You're right, but that makes it wrong to just catch up? It's been really basic conversations with the reason for that being you."
"The conversation's boring cause of me?"
"Not boring, but not how they once were because I'm not his anymore. I'm yours," she explains.
"Yeah?" I make a turn onto the street that our school is on and then continue. "Well knowing that you're with me, what's the point of texting this nigga? You can talk to me about ya soccer thing and the whole college shit. Fuck Simeon."
In response, Layla stayed silent but I could tell that she was typing on her phone. I'm not sure if she's messaging that nigga right now or not, but I'm pretty sure she is.
Now if I reacted how I immediately wanted to, some smart shit would've left my mouth and who knows how that would turn out so I'm just gonna just keep my mouth shut until we reach the school which will be in no time.
