This is a special Marcus-Isa chapter for you special readers on a special occasion.
What's the occasion?
Flipsyde reached 10k views!!! :D
------------chapter 8 starts here------------
"Hey guys who wants chicke-" Isa's mom started, before registering our position and pausing mid-sentence.
We both looked up at her from our position on the ground. We were both leaned back up against the wall of the tent, one of my arms draped around her, and both my hands wrapped around her bandaged hand- as if to protect it from anything else that could happen.
I started to panic. Isa's mom had never seen us like this. I quickly tried to remove my arm from Isa's shoulder- to be polite, but Isa's right hand held my arm tightly.
Isa's mom's expression changed from a surprised look back to a smile.
"Well you two have fun," she said, winking.
"Mooooooooooommmmmm!!!" Isa shouted, turning beetroot red as she did so.
--------------------------------------
A few minutes later.
"Isa. I just have to say this again. I'm really sorry about-" I started before she cut me off.
"There's no need to apologize," she said, smiling sweetly at me.
I was stunned. After all I had done, she was denying the need for an apology?
I pulled her into a bear hug. "I won't let anyone hurt you again."
What happened next surprised me.
Using her right hand, she grabbed my left hand and twisted it, pushing me backwards. A sweep with her right leg made me topple onto my back.
She then sat on my chest, using both her legs to successfully pin down my arms.
I was still in a state of shock. All of this happened in mere seconds.
As I looked up towards her, wondering what she would do next, she spoke.
"I don't think you're capable of doing that Marcus.."
I froze. How could I ruin the moment like that? By letting her pin me- in spite of her having a broken hand- and proving once again how incompetent I was in a fight.
"After all, you're the one leading the attack on my heart," she said, playfully slapping me.
-------------------------------------
Several minutes later.
I leaned in to once again kiss Isa.
But I was interrupted by a voice.
"I'm still here," came Isa's dad's voice from the bed.
Oh my god! Had we said that all in front of him?? I could feel the redness spreading across my cheeks timed perfectly to match the way it spread across Isa's as well.
"Umm. I think we'll give you some privacy," I said, grabbing Isa's right hand and pulling her towards the entrance of the tent.
"No. Don't leave yet. Stay for a bit," Isa's dad replied. "That way I can keep an eye on you two."
I laughed, unsure of what to do. This was my first meeting with him and I really wanted him to like me. Or more accurately, I didn't want him to hate me.
Isa's dad laughed. "I'm just kidding. Go have fun."
I wasn't one to argue with a suggestion like that. Grabbing Isa's hand, I ran out of the tent, dragging her along with me.
