Prompt:Robin wants Regina to hold his hand

"She's over here!" Robin yelled as the paramedics ran to his wife. "We were walking along the beach and then there was a shot, and she went down." He said frantically as he saw the paramedics start to lift her onto a gurney. "Your wife has a pulse so we think she'll make it though this, but we're not sure how bad the side affects will be. She was shot in the side of her head so we won't know how much damage was done until we get her to the hospital. There was no exit wound so the bullet is most likely still in her brain so it's likely she'll need surgery. You can ride with her to the hospital but once we get there your gonna need to stay in the waiting room so we can do our job." One of the paramedics said as he patted Robin on the back "We're gonna do all we can for her." He said and then he went back to help load Regina into the ambulance. Halfway there Regina started to regain conciseness, and Robin was the first to notice. "Regina! Can you hear me? Your gonna be alright love, im right here." He said as he grabbed Reginas hand and started rubbing it. She started to scream. "Push 2 epies of morphine" one of the paramedics yelled at someone else. "It hurts!" She yelled as she started to cry and squirm. "It's alright, their giving you medicine to numb the pain. Darling look at me, try to focus on me and not the pain until the morphine kicks in." He said as she looked him in the eyes. He could see how much pain she was in through her eyes, and it broke him. She kept watching him until her eyes rolled back into her head and she passed out again.
"Get out of the way!" A doctor yelled as they pushed Regina into the hospital. "sir, you need to stay right here. We will update you as soon as we can." The paramedic told Robin as he started to walk away. He paced the room for what felt like a million times before Zelena and Emma ran into the waiting room. Zelena ran over and hugged Robin. She was crying hard. They've been working on their relationship to try and get along better since they were gonna be in each others life forever now, but they never touched eachother. "How is she?" Zelena said breaking the silence. "I'm not sure. They said that they would give me an update soon. We were just walking along the beach when she was shot out of nowhere. She passed out and then on the ride over here she regained consessness for a little while, before they gave her morphine to knock her out again." He said running his fingers through his hair. "She'll make it through this Robin. She's strong, and she been through a lot worse than this. Just think positive." Emma said as she took his hand and squeezed it.
"Mr. Locksley?" A nurse asked walking over to him. "Your wife's out of surgery. She's in icu right now. I'm gonna take you to her, but as of right now she's in a coma. We're not sure when she's gonna wake up, I need to warn you there's a chance she might not wake up at all. She had significant brain damage, and if she does wake up she's gonna need a lot  of therapy to get her back to her old self." She said as Robin started to cry. "I'm sorry sir. But there's still a good chance that she will wake up thought" The nurse said to give him some hope. Emma came over and grabbed his hand. "Come on, let's go see her."
When he walked into the room the first thing he saw was all of the machines hooked up to her. She had a lot of wires coming out of her, and she had a breathing mask on. "Oh my god" Zelena said as she started crying. She had to leave the room to regain her composure, cause she was crying so hard. "Regina, it's me. It's Robin." He said as he sat down by her and took her hand. "Please wake up soon. You have two boys who still need you, and I need you. Please give me a sign you can hear me." He said crying as he kissed her hand. Emma had left the room with Zelena to give Robin some time with Regina alone. "I love you so much Regina. Please do something, anything. " he said desperate for Regina to do something. He sat there for ten minutes waiting for her to do something, and then got up to go get zelena, when he felt a squeeze in his hand. He whipped his head around and saw Regina struggling to open her eyes. "Regina" Robin whispered as he grasped her hand with both hands. "Zelena, get Doctor whale!" He yelled as he went back to looking at Regina. "It's ok, I'm right here Milady." He told her as Whale, Zelena, and Emma all ran into the room. "She squeezed my hand and she's trying to open her eyes" Robin told him as whale shined a light into her eyes. He was holding them open to do this but when he was done and put his hands down, her eyes were still opened. And then she blinked. "Ok she's awake! Regina can you hear me?" He asked Regina. She just turned her head to look at Robin. She had fear in her eyes he noticed, and he could tell she couldn't understand what was going on. "She's confused." He said to whale. "Regina do you know who I am" Robin said as he pointed at himself. She moved her head up and down slowly and then winced. "She can understand me!" He said smiling. Whale went to the foot of the bed and ran a metal thing against her foot. Her leg kicked up and then went back down. "She has her reflexes. Robin this is very good. The brain damage wasn't as bad as we thought it was." Robin smiled at Regina and kissed her lips, and she kissed him back.
It took a few months for her to regain her full ability to talk and to do everything she used to do, but eventually she was back to normal. The first few weeks were tough for her, especially speaking, and she would end up getting  frustrated and would start crying while Robin held her, always encouraging her every step of the way. When she was finally able to speak clearly again, they started to do pphysical therapy for her to start walking again. The day she came home Roland ran to his mommy and hugged her tight. He wasn't allowed to visit her at first because Robin was scared he would get upset seeing as she couldn't talk or anything, but when she could talk he let Roland come up about once a week, and then in the last month of her therapy he would come every day after school with Henry.
When they went out that night to get ice cream Roland said "Hold my hand mommy," and she did, for the first time in almost a year.
