Ricky closed his eyes, hearing every word his friend and Ryan exchanged.
Ricky hated secrets. He also hated people trying to keep others from him.
Chris, at the time, felt it was best for Ryan to stay away from Ricky, but neither of them were planning on doing that. That part of their brain just snapped and took over, not willing to give up. You could say it snapped when Ryan first left Ricky.
Ricky sat up in his bed, leaning over to his bedside table and pulling the, almost torn, letter out, his eyes flicking to the fireplace that was only a few metres away from him.
Every day Ryan was gone, Ricky wanted to burn the letter. But every day be talked himself out of it because he couldn't bring himself to get rid of the only thing he had to hold on to. No one knew he still had it, so what was the harm?
Ricky was too busy to notice Ryan's presence by the door.
"What's that?" Ryan asked, slowly walking to where Ricky was.
Ricky merely jumped, still paying too much attention to the note, "I don't know why I've kept it this long," He mumbled, still confusing Ryan, "I don't know why I didn't just throw the thing away."
Ryan plucked the note out of Ricky's hands, frowning as he read over it, "Rick, why the hell would you-"
Ricky spun around, trying not to be angry at Ryan, "It was all I had! It's not like- What're you doing?" Ricky stared as Ryan moved towards the fireplace, throwing the paper in before Ricky could stop him.
"Rick," Ryan said, turning to Ricky, "You don't need to keep that." Ryan moved forward, causing Ricky to look down, "That note was..." Ryan sighed, trying to find the words that could explain everything.
He didn't expect Ricky to keep such a thing. When he was nothing but a guard, he would notice Ricky keeping a few things from his younger years or a rock that he found when they were outside of the kingdom, but he didn't think Ricky would actually keep that.
Ryan gently held Ricky's face in his hands, tilting his head back up so their eyes could meet, "I'm here, now. You don't need that, or any of the memories from that time, because I'm here now."
Ricky stared up at Ryan, confused before he finally understood everything.
When he was in Hell, he felt that being there was like a second chance. Then, when Dallon told him he was able to send him back to the real world to do what he needed to, Ricky's mind went straight to Ryan.
Ryan was Ricky's second chance. Well, first for love, but Ryan was Ricky's second chance at living a life he had always wanted to. One with love, happiness, and friends. All of which he had with Ryan and the guys.
Ricky leaned up, his eyes flicking from Ryan's, to his lips, then slowly closing them as the two brushed lips.
Ricky pulled back, looking up at Ryan with... something else... before leaning back in, their lips meeting in an actual kiss.
Not even in a dream had Ricky imagined his first kiss to be this amazing. At two hundred and seventy three years old, Ricky was only just having his first kiss. He wanted to wait until he was certain Ryan was never coming back before moving on. He's more than glad he did. As was Ryan.
Ryan kept a hand on Ricky's cheek, sliding the other down his back and to his waist, pulling him closer.
Their lips moved in sync, creating nothing but an atmosphere full of love.
After at least thirty seconds, Ricky slowly pulled away, his eyes closed as he tried to catch his breath.
Ryan chuckled, "First time?"
"Yeah..."
Ryan lightly pressed his lips to Ricky's, once again taking his breath away, "Come on."
With his hand in Ryan's, Ricky followed him to the bed where the two laid down, their arms around each other as they slowly dozed off.
Even though Chris had asked Ryan to stay back not five minutes before he kissed Ricky, Ryan ignored him.
After living two hundred and fifty years with nothing but regret, Ryan wanted to fix things between he and Ricky. Whether that be enhancing everything, or simply fixing the fixable, he was going to do it. No matter what Chris said. He didn't want anyone trying to break them apart. Not even himself.
The love he had for Ricky when he first left he saw as a bad thing. He thought that if he felt for something as much as he felt for Ricky, nothing would be okay. Truth is, he needed someone like Ricky in his life to keep everything in check.
When Ryan wasn't at his best, Ricky would be there to help him through what ever he needed. When Ricky was just the King's son, he would help Ryan out whenever he could. Ryan leaving him was just a wake up call. This night was the friendly lullaby that helped kids sleep at night.
They needed each other, more than they knew. So, each other they gave..
A/N: I don't exactly know how I did on this.. It's 2:55 a.m and I'm sitting here unable to sleep. xD
