I wake up to my phone's text message alarm going off. I groan and roll out of Mike's tight grasp so I could grab my phone. I squint against the brightness and see that it's from Zack. I grin when I read it and quickly type back, Absolutely! Which bar? and sit back, waiting for his reply, which came a long few seconds later. Uhh, how about Veil's? I grin widely. Veil's is where Tony and I's dad always went on Saturday nights to play pool. I reply with a smiley face and scribble a note for Mike, thanking him for last night and promising that I would explain what it was about when I got back. I blocked all memories of yesterday out of my mind as I step into the shower, enjoying the feeling of the scalding hot water pouring down my body, washing away the pain and grime. I soap up and rinse off, shave, then step out, wrapping myself in a warm towel. After I dry myself off, I pad to my room, my footsteps quieted by the plush carpet that coated the floor. I quietly push open the door to my room and close it behind me, then walk over to my closet to select my outfit to meet Zack at Veil's. I choose a pair of ripped black jeans and a plain black tank top to be paired with my black heels. I slide those on over a white, lacy bra and matching underwear and then grab my leather jacket and slide it on. I walk to the bathroom again and brush my hair and teeth, practically shaking with excitement at the thought of seeing Zack again. I blow dry and straighten my hair, deciding that I should dye it again soon. I pull out my phone to check the time and realize that it's only noon. "Skai!" I hear Mike shout from his room and I rush to him. "Yeah?" I ask, poking my head in. "Will you run to the store with me?" he asks. "Yeah, sure, I was gonna go and pick up some hair dye anyways, so it works out perfectly." I smile, then turn and walk back to my room, changing into sweatpants and a big hoodie that happened to be Mike's and sliding my sneakers on, then running down the stairs to meet Mike in the car. "Hurry up slow poke!" he laughs, leaning his head out of the open car window. I stick my tongue out at him and run to the car, sliding into the car through the already opened passenger side door. I pull the door shut behind me and buckle my seatbelt in. "Ready?" he asks me, raising an eyebrow. "Yup. I think I'm gonna do midnight blue for my hair." I inform him. He nods and starts the car, backing out of the driveway. "I think midnight blue hair will suit you well." he says once we are on the road and halfway to the store. I nod and stare out the window until I see the store. We pull into the parking lot and Mike shuts off the car, getting out and I do the same, minus the shutting off the car part, haha.
~Skip the store trip~
"You need help dying your hair Skai?" Mike asked me when we arrived home. "Uh, yeah, probably, thanks." I say, smiling at him, grateful for his offer so I didn't have to ask. He nods and follows me to the bathroom so I could dye my hair.
~After the dye is all rinsed out~
"It looks so good girl!!" Mike shrieks in a girly voice one I blow dry and straighten my hair, once again. "Thank you, now get in this selfie with me so I can show it off!" I laugh. He laughs and smiles while I snap the picture, then upload it to Instagram. Once that is done, I plug in my phone and get ready again because it was 6:30 and I was supposed to meet him at 7 (yes, Mike and I did take 4 hours in the store buying oreos and other snack foods). I quickly do my makeup, then rush to say goodbye to Mike. "Bye, Mike! I'm leaving!" I call, unplugging my phone and rushing out the door. "Have fun!" he calls just before I shut the door.
~Skip the car ride~
I lock the car doors behind me and walk into the bar. I choose a seat and sit down, waiting for Zack. I look around, seeing if there is anybody that I know and tense up when I see Jaime sitting at the bar drinking a beer. I quickly look away and order a drink. When I'm on my second drink, the door opens and I look up hopefully, hoping to see Zack and tensing up more when I see Jesse standing there. I'll save you the gory details, though. After she was done talking to me, she walked over to Jaime and ordered a drink, and that's when I left. I texted Zack and gave him a different bar to meet me at, then drove away from the root of all of my problems to someone who could (hopefully) help me solve them.
