I've Missed You

"Was that Jesse that just pulled out of the driveway?" I ask Alex, leaning forward. He glances in the rearview mirror. "Yeah, it was.. What was she doing with that scum?" he questions. "I don't know, should we find out?" I ask him. "Yeah, we should." he replies, waiting until they get further down the road, then pulling out and driving after them.

"What the fuck does she think she's doing, letting him put his arm around her shoulder and hold her?!" Alex shouts, enraged. I lightly place my hand on his shoulder. "Alex, calm down. I'll talk to her." I tell him quietly. "I know she will tell me.." I say, even quieter. "Whatever Skai. You don't have to rub it in. I get the fact that she is more open with you than she is with me. You don't always have to rub it in." he says. "Alex, I-" he cuts me off. "No Skai, you think you make things better, but you never do! If anything, you make things worse! Jesse even told me herself that she doesn't like you always trying to make everything better!! You complicate the relationship that Jesse and I have! So please, for once in your goddamn life, stay the fuck out of it!!" he raises his voice. "Whatever Alex. I'll go, since that is obviously what you want. Tell Jesse that I'm out of her life like she so very obviously wants if she said that." I tell him, opening the car door and stepping out, then slamming it behind me, leaving Zack and Alex in the car. I hear the door open as I'm walking away. "Babe, don't do this!" Zack calls after me. I turn around and look at him. "Does anybody in that house even like me Zack?" I ask, suddenly aware of the tears streaming down my face. "I like you.. Everybody does, Alex is just pissed and taking his anger out on you. He didn't mean any of that..." he says quietly. "If you insist... I think I just need some time to think.." I reply, turning back around and wiping away the rapidly falling tears. "Wait, are you... Breaking up with me..?" he asks. "No, I just need time to think.." I reply, then start walking away. "I love you, Skai!" he calls. "I love you too Zack.." I reply quietly. I hear him get back in the car and wait until I'm further away to release the tears. I sink down onto the curb, sobs wracking my body. There is only one place I can go at this point...

"I'll be right there, stay where you are." I hear his voice through the phone. I nod, forgetting he can't see me. "Okay.. I'll see you soon. I love you." I tell him. "I love you too." he replies, followed by the sharp click of him hanging up.

~5 Minutes Later~

"Get in the car." he calls out the window, leaning across and unlocking the door. I pull the door open and slide in, shutting the door behind me. I take one look at him and I'm in tears again. "What the hell happened? Or am I not going to receive an explanation?" he asks, pulling me into him in a tight hug. "I missed you, I can't believe I haven't seen you, my own goddamn brother, in 10 years!" I laugh through my tears, wiping the tears away. "Well, to be fair, I've been busy with the guys and tour and new music and everything.. Although that's no excuse, I should have made time to see you." he smiles at me. "Wait, Pierce The Veil is releasing new music?! When were you planning on telling me?!" I exclaim, forgetting about why I called him in the first place. "When it came out.." he replies sheepishly. I playfully glare at him. "Cesar Antonio Perry Soto, how dare you not tell me about new music!?" I exclaim. He throws his hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry! Forgive me?" he pouts. I pretend to think about it, causing him to give me the puppy dog eyes and stick his lower lip out. "Ugh fine, I just can't resist that face, you know that!" I grin, happy to be with my brother again. "I've missed you, Skai.." he tells me quietly. "I've missed you too, Tony." I smile, completely forgetting about the situation at hand, just happy to be with him.
