Chapter 20: Finding The Path

Juliana POV...

"Wait!" I shot up the sodden chair as I slam my hands on the old table. Oh it was just a dream I thought while wiping off the sweat on my forehead. What time is it? I took my phone, that was next to the book I was reading, and opened it. 5:48 a.m.! I slept in the library! Not to mention I fave a lot of missed calls from Zain and Theo! I am so dead.

But wait. Why didn't the librarian wake me up that the library was closing? That's what usually happen in my world. If I go outside then there might be guards patrolling the place but.... I can't stay here. Well I can but why didn't anybody wake me up while I was asleep! Ugh!!

I put both my hands on my hair in irritation. Okay Juliana, you need to be calm in a situation like this. Once I got my mind cleared, I continue pondering. Okay so if I go outside, there is a high chance that I will go to jail since there might be security guards patrolling the place and also surveillance cameras. If I stay inside this room until opening time then I can continue doing my research but everyone in the palace might be worried if they don't see me in the morning.

So I got two options, stay here and wait till the library opens or leave and get caught.Hmm, the best choice will be staying here for now. I better text Zain to tell him not to worry and that I will return to the palace at 8.

After texting Zain, I continue reading books about Adam and his wife Jessica.

After reading about twenty books in total, (the books that she read yesterday and today.) I check my phone to see that it is 7:37. I guess it is time to go now. Should I put the books away or not? I did get enough information about Adam and Jessica but Juliana will have to wait.

In the end I decided not to put the books away because I may put it in the wrong place and that I only have 30 minutes to reach the palace. Leaving the library, I called a cab to take me back to Nobel Michel.

"Oho ho ho! I see you got stuck in a small situation." Mike laughs after I told him everything that has happened to me in the national library but not the dream of course. I don't want him to worry about something small like that. "But your grace, that is not a small situation. That is rather big. If the guards found her then she would surely be in prison right now. It won't be a good image to have that happen. Especially when she is staying here." Zain steps in while Mike and I had a small chat about what happen.

Right now we are having breakfast in the dining hall with Zain standing close by. "Oh Zain my boy, loosen up a bit. " Mike starts to laugh after saying that. Before Zain can open his mouth to speak, the door to to the dining room slammed open.

"Where is she!" A voice shouts. Don't tell me that's-"Julie!" The said person starts to hug me tightly as if the world will end tomorrow. Yep I was right. Robbie. But why are the other princes here? I look at the rest of the princes as they sighed in relief. What are they doing here wearing there princely clothes?

"I thought I lost you." Robbie's sad voice makes my heart sink. "I'm sorry but why are you all here?" I ask all of the princes when Robbie let go of me. "We heard you didn't come back yesterday. So we came to see if you were okay." Wilfred answers with a small smile.

"Okay but why are you dressed in your regalias?" I look at each of them quizzically. (I think a regalia is a prince's royal clothes. I think.) "we are having a royal summit today." Joshua says while taking a step forward. "So where did you hear that I did not come back yesterday from?"

"We heard that from Roberto. " Edward says. "So where were you that was so good that you decided to stay the night?" Keith stares at my purple orbs as the rest of the princes followed. I can't possibly tell them right? It too embarrassing.

"Well it's kind of embarrassing." I started to play with my thumbs while trying to hid my blushing face. "What do you mean?" Glenn pushed. I guess I have to tell them huh. They seem to get the wrong point of view since they are all blushing.

"Well you see I fell asleep in the national library." I admitted. Then I heard a huge sigh of relief. Don't tell me they thought something else that was happening! "So why did you go to the library?" Edward asks.

"Well I wanted to do some research but then I fell asleep." I answered while looking up at the princes. "Don't you find it weird that nobody woke Juliana up that the library was closing soon?" Glenn sudden comment made everyone flinch.
"Yes, I agree." Wilfred agrees to Glenn's comment.

"Maybe they didn't see me or they forgot." I intervene. "But..." Robbie trailed of in his sentence as I continued to say" I mean like I was in a room so they can easily forget me, right? Plus the room looked like it hasn't been used since the books were all dusty."

"Are you sure that's the case?" Joshua stares intensely at me. "Yes, I'm sure." I calmly look back at him. That could happen right? Like in those movies with secret passage ways and such. Now I am just assuming stuff.

"So didn't you come for a summit? You must get going before your late." I continue to eat my now cold breakfast. "The summit is always held in Nobel Michel so there is no need to rush." Edward answers in a calm voice.

Oh yea. I just remembered a chapter in BMP when a sudden clearing of thought interrupted. "Now shall we get the Royal summit ready? Maybe after the summit we can all enjoy lunch together." Mike looks happily at the princes to make sure they agree. Oh course they would agree. He's the great Nobel Michel! No one can dare ignore an invitation to lunch. Okay now I'm exaggerating.

Where is that path! I yell in my head in frustration after a few hours of searching. Okay calm down and retrace your steps, Juliana. Remembering the dark path, I let my body guide me to it.

Standing in front of the unlit corner of the library, I was about to take a step forward when a book suddenly fall. I pick up the book that fell and read the title, 'Juliana's diary'. Yes! I found it! I yell mentally when I heard a loud bang. Huh what was that?! It sounds like the library's door opening and closing.

Having the book close in hand, I proceed to the door. Step step step. I hear distant footsteps getting closer. Okay footsteps again, I am not scared anymore since last time I made Robbie loose his balance.

"There you are! It's time for lunch now hurry up!" Theo yells when he spot me. See I was right. It was nothing to be scared about. Rushing out of the library, I went to my room to drop the diary off before I head to the dining room.
