False Awakening
Tonight, I had a nightmare;
We broke up with each other.
I ran and cried on my bed,
Wishing you take back what you've said.
But I woke up, realizing it's just a dream.
Beside me is you, looking at me smiling.
I held you tight, so you won't fade,
In your arms, I laid.
I am vividly convinced that I am awake.
But in reality, this is fake.
In my dream, I am awake and we're still lovers,
The moment I woke up, I realized, it's over.
This is just a false awakening.
The fact is apart, we're tearing.
We aren't same as yesterday,
The truth is we're nothing today.

A false awakening is a vivid and convincing dream about awakening from sleep, while the dreamer in reality continues to sleep. After a false awakening, subjects often dream they are performing daily morning rituals such as cooking, cleaning and eating.
