This is the day we've spent watching movies, laughing on the streets, and looking at the starry night sky.
My eyes are fixed on him, I don't want to blink or to look away. Because maybe, this is the best memory I could play on my mind every once in a while.
"Hey," I call him as I reach for his hands. I am resting upon his chest, while looking at him.
"Hmm?" he looked at me in a way he wanted to continue what I'm supposed to say.
"Can we own each other?" I asked.
He took a deep breath, "we are happy on what we are right now, aren't we?"
"I just want to make things clear. We've been always like this for a year now. When are we going to settle for good?"
He brushed my hair with his fingers, "If you only knew how much I'd like to call you my always, and my other half. But we'll get through that day." He assured me.
I forced a smile.
He don't want attachments. He don't want to knot his strings onto mine.
We've been going out since last year, and I don't know if our story's making sense.
But I guess, it's better not to settle yet. Right here, right now. Resting upon each other's presence, holding on to what tomorrow may bring.
I guess it's better to stay up late, doing nothing beside each other; to kiss each other without commitment; and to do everything we want without the fear of getting hurt or losing our hearts.
Does it hurt if we'll lose this chance? Does it hurt if we'll realize we're not for each other?
Maybe no, because we never really happened. Maybe yes, because we had the happiest almost.
In case we lose this chance the world has offered, and in case time comes that we'll realize we were not meant to be, maybe the best thing we did is not to own each other.
Because we got contended on a relationship without label, and without attachments.
