Caution Tape Around My Heart

I walk home alone and realize how far I'd gotten. The wind turns icy cold and lucky me being a werewolf, my body temperature heightens to keep me warm. I start shivering and try to keep going. I get the feeling someone is watching me and I start picking up my pace. Sure I could handle myself but I didn't want to hurt anyone. I don't see the house and I wonder if I'm even going the right way. I hear a branch break and my head snaps around. My eyes look around and I see nothing so I start walking faster. I focus ahead of me and suddenly someone's hand covers my mouth with a cloth and I know they are trying to chloroform me. My screams are muffled and I thrash around in their grip. "Don't try calling your mates. They won't find you." A gruff male voice growls in my ear and I continue to fight. A sharp pain in the back of my head makes me black out and I slump in my attacker's arms.

Brandon's P. O. V

"Jaidon! Where did you leave her!" I yell as the time nears almost nine. "She was right behind me! I don't know where she could be now." He yells back defensively. "I'm just as scared and worried as you are, but don't take it out on me!" He continues and I run my hand through my hair for the thousandth time. "She'll come back. She always does." Luke says calmly, though we could all see the tears in his eyes. He was thinking it would be his fault if we find her dead.
We won't. We won't find her dead.
I chant in my mind and try to believe myself. "Boys, calm down. She'll show soon. And if she doesn't, we'll go look for her in the morning." Mom says and I ignore her. If only she knew.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Hayden decided to leave. All we did was cause her trouble. Hell, we couldn't even make her feel something again. I pace around the room and tug on my hair. "This is all my fault. If only I hadn't..." Jaidon says lowly and I slowly turn to him. "What did you do." I ask and he looks up at me. "I kissed her. Twice. And we talked about us." He says and my head drops. "I admitted to her that... that I can't stop thinking about her. And I probably made her want to leave us because of me." Jaidon confesses and I hug him. "You didn't do anything. You just confessed your feelings." I say and pull away. He had so much sadness in his eyes, it made me feel shitty. I haven't told Jaidon nor Luke of anything that I've done and I really should tell them but I haven't.

"She still hasn't come." Luke says and I see it's midnight now. "Just go to bed Luke. She'll come in the morning." I say sleepily and he shakes his head. "The dogs will let us know." I say and he nods. He goes upstairs with Kodiak at his heels. Nanook and Ayka stay with me downstairs and I hear a door open. "I have a bad feeling." I hear Dawson say as he sits beside me. "I feel it in our pack bond. She's unconscious, Brandon. Something or someone knocked her out and I can't reach her and neither can Tess. We have to find her soon, or we'll return without an Alpha." He says and I nod, determination in my eyes. "Get Nanook, Timber, and Kodiak. I'll get my brothers." I say and he goes to get the dogs while I go and get my brothers.
"Get dressed. We're going to find our mate." I say when I wake up Luke and Jaidon. "Finally. I've been waiting for you to say that." Jaidon says, throwing off the cover and showing he was already dressed in black cargo pants, a black tee, and his favorite combat boots. Luke was dressed in black jeans, tee, and hiker boots. I see them adjusting their gun holsters and I fix mine under my jacket. Jaidon puts his on his ankle and Luke puts his on his thigh. He covers it and I nod.
We wait downstairs and Dawson comes in the same attire as us. "Stay here Dawson." I say and anger shines in his eyes. "Why should I?" He growls lowly. "You have a pregnant wife and mate to protect, that's why." Luke says and he looks down. "Come back safe." He says and we nod. We get the dogs on leashes and follow the trail Jaidon came back.

Hayden's P. O. V

I blink away the darkness and look around slowly. The back of my head was pounding and I groan in pain. "Finally the Alpha's awake." The same gruff male voice growls and I tense up. "What do you want?" I growl back and the person laughs. "She's got fire, I'll give her that. It'll be fun breaking her." Another male voice says and I struggle against my restraints. "Don't do that. It's laced with wolfsbane." They say and I hiss at the familiar sting of the wolfsbane burning against my skin. "Too bad your little mates won't find you." A hand caresses the side of my face and I shy away. They aggressively grab my chin and force me to stare into crazed golden eyes. "You'll be putty in my hand before you realize." He snarls in my face and I jerk away from him. "Xander, Alex, the Alpha needs to speak to the two of you." A person says and I watch them leave. "Don't miss us too much. We'll be back soon." He grins and leaves. I try to call on my wolf but she doesn't come at all. "Oh where are you guys?" I whisper to the still air. I hang my head and stop trying to escape. I'll get out one way or another. If it takes force or not I'm getting out. I'm not being locked up like a prisoner again.
I'm Alpha. I'm supreme. And I will return to my pack.
