*Reid's POV*

The plane landed. My head was still pounding, but I managed to play it off so that I didn't worry anyone else. It was bad enough that I worried Mel. I was hoping she wouldn't have noticed anything. Well, she is my wife and a profiler.

As we got off the plane, I felt a soft hand on my back. I turned to see Mel. She leaned closer so I could hear her over the jet.

"We're going to check in to the hotel. I'll check us in, you go visit Sammy and then meet us at the police station. I'll tell Uncle Aaron." she said.

I smiled and hugged her again.

"Thank you." I whispered in her ear.

"You're welcome, Reiders."

I smiled at the nickname she had given me forever ago and she still used it now.

I took one of the SUVs and drove to the Spark's house. It hadn't changed. It was still quite a small house, but big enough for the two.

I parked in front of the house and got out. I walked up to the door and knocked. I winced in pain. The knock sounded like a gun shot.

The door opened and Alison Sparks stood at the door. I smiled at her.

"Hey." I said. "I'm not sure if you remember me. My names Spencer Reid, I'm on the FBI."

"I remember you." she said. "Come in, come in."

I stepped into the porch. Everything was the same. The piano was in the same place. I smiled as I remembered when I played the song Sammy taught me for Mel on our first date.

"Would you like something to drink?" Alison asked.

"Coffee would be nice." I said, following her into the kitchen. "So, how are things? How's Sammy?"

"He's better. He's talking more now. Things were a bit different after his father died, but as time passed, he started doing better in school, talking more. He's teaching himself more piano every day."

Alison poured the coffee and placed it in front of me.

"Anything in it?" she asked.

"No. Plain is fine." I said.

She sat down next to me and smiled.

"How's your life?" she asked. "How are things?"

"Good! Really good! Um, I got married six months ago." I said, holding up my left hand and showing her my wedding ring.

"That's great! Who's the lucky girl?"

"Her names Melanie. She's Hotch's niece. Everyone calls her Mel." I said. "We have been together for a little over a year. We found out a few days ago that she's pregnant."

"Wow! That's great! How far along is she?"

"A month. If it is a boy, we were actually thinking of naming him Sammy."

Alison looked at me, her cup raised to her lips. I took a sip of my coffee and waited for her to speak.

"Really?" she asked, her voice shaking a bit.

"Well, yeah."

"That's so touching." she said. "I've actually found someone else. He's a local named John."

"I'm so happy for you. I'm glad you've moved on. Charlie would've wanted that." I said.

I heard footsteps running into the kitchen. I turned to see Sammy standing in the doorway of the kitchen. I smiled at him.

"Hey sweetie. Do you remember Spencer Reid from the FBI?" asked Alison.

Sammy nodded.

"Hey kiddo. Long time, no see. You've gotten taller." I said. Sammy nodded. "You doing okay kiddo? Good in school?"

"5 friends!" he replied, holding up the five fingers on one of his hands.

"That's great!" I said. "Are they nice?"

He nodded again, quicker this time. He was excited to talk about his life. He was happy now.

"Piano." he said, pointing to the porch/living room.

I looked at Alison, who was just smiling at her son. I looked back to Sammy.

"You wanna play the piano?" I asked. He nodded. I got up. The little boy ran out of the kitchen.

I smiled. He reminded me of Jack. Mel and I babysat him a lot when Hotch went out with Beth. I guess it was like our practice for our child.

Sammy sat at the piano and began playing. I sat next to him, placing my coffee on it.

Sammy played for me for a while before stopping and turning.

"Play." he said.

I chuckled.

"I don't know much other then what you taught me." I said.

"We both play."

He turned back to the piano. He began playing the familiar tune. I watched him for a while before joining it.

It felt like just yesterday I was sitting here, playing the same song with him while we looked for his parents. A lot has changed since then. Now, I was married to the most amazing girl on the planet and was getting ready to have a child. Sammy had many new friends at school and was talking again. And Alison had found happiness since Charlie.

Things changed for the better for all of us. I was glad.
