I decided to invite Elena, Jeremy, her friends (the whole group really) to visit my house. I hadn't seen them in a while after the gathering at Mrs Lockwood's and I missed them a lot since I felt like they were family now. I went outside into my back garden. I had bought a few seeds and wanted to plant them to make my own personal little garden. I put my gloves on, grabbed a spade and began placing the seeds one by one. I had already watered the lawn. It looked really nice, green, perfectly soft. I also bought a bench so I could read outside on pleasant days and I couldn't wait until it was completely finished so I could continue taking pictures since flowers would be an interesting subject. I heard my doorbell ring. I flung my gloves off and yelled "COMING!" as I wiped my feet on the carpet and opened the door to find the entire gang.
"Hey Elena." I said as I hugged her and did the same to Bonnie and Caroline. I shook hands with Jenna who was Elena and Jeremy's guardian and Alaric Salzman too. They were both really nice from what I could tell. Damon came up to me kissing me on the cheek and walked beside me. I saw Stefan waiting outside.
"Uh...Is something wrong Stefan?" I asked seeing him rock back and forth on his heels. I noticed Damon smirking from the corner of my eye.
"No, nothing at all just um... admiring your house. You did a great job with the painting. I know how it was before."
"Oh well, thank you Stefan. Would you like to come in?" I smiled.
"Of course, thank you." He said smiling and went over to Elena.
"So, what are we going to do?" Elena asked excitedly.
"Well, I thought the us girls could make some nachos for when we watch a movie while the guys could play some PS3." I said," It would be fun, I need some girl time." I laughed as everyone did too.
"You have the PS3?" Jeremy asked surprised and excited with a gleam in his eyes.
"Yeah, knock yourself out." I said laughing as he ran to my Tv set.
So the girls and I got to cooking. We were actually really enjoying ourselves. Well, I was anyway. We talked about all sorts of things and joked around. I decided to check up on what the guys were doing. Stefan was talking to Alaric by the window. Seems like video games don't really interest them while Damon and Jeremy were playing as enthusiastically as if they were 7 year olds. I laughed at them. Damon seemed to notice my presence as he turned his head around and smiling at me before he focused on the game again although Jeremy was still too occupied to care.
"I thought you said you hadn't played this game before." Jeremy said, astonished at Damon's virtual action skills, contented because he was playing yet irritated that he was losing...badly. Damon raised his eyebrows.
"I'm a fast learner, quick reflexes." I smiled. I loved the fact that everyone was getting along.
"Come on everybody time for a movie!" Elena yelled, bringing out the nachos.
"What should we watch?" Bonnie asked, sitting down on the single couch.
"Ooh! How about the Notebook." Caroline said, clapping her hands and bounced up and down.
"I loved hat movie Care, but I don't think that would be fair on the guys." I smirked as Damon exhaled with relief as he came over to me and wrapped his arms around my waist.
"Well, what do you have then?" She asked.
"Okay, how about a compromise? My Bloody Valentine (never watched that movie xD) for the guys since it has action and stuff."
"How is that a compromise?" Caroline asked.
"Jensen Ackles is in it." I smiled as Caroline screamed.
"Deal." She said as everyone laughed. I sat next to Damon, snuggling my head into his chest. Everyone seemed consumed in the movie. Jeremy was grabbing a hand full of popcorn with his left and nachos in his right. As the scary part came on I hid me face in Damon's chest. I could feel his chest rumble as he chuckled. He put his head on top of mine and rubbed my back. When the scary part was over I noticed Stefan look at me. His face displayed an expression of relief, happiness and gratefulness. Don't ask me why. He seemed happy about me and Damon which made me happy. After Jeremy, Bonnie and Caroline left, everyone helped me clean up. I washed the last of the dishes while Damon and Stefan had a drink in the living room along with Jenna and Elena. Alaric and I talked and I got to know him. He too was pretty amazing and since he was a young adult like I was, I found it surprisingly easier to talk to him than Bonnie for example. I rubbed my forehead with my hand as we talked, he seemed to notice.
"What's up Jane?" He asked.
"You've known me for a few hours and you can already read me?" I asked laughing and he did too. "I'm just having trouble finding a job and I have to find one. Otherwise I won't be able to pay rent in a few months. I have enough money for now but you'll never know what could happen right?"
"Well, I'm a teacher where Elena goes to school. I'm sure I could find you a job there if you're interested." He smiled.
"That would be awesome."
"Is there any subject you excelled in or have a masters in?"
"I did get a diploma in history." I said, thinking about my other strong points in academics, not that there were many.
"That's great because I'm the history teacher and I was about to ask the headmaster if we could get another one. I have too many classes to catch up with correcting and assigning work." Jenna soon joined us. I got to know her too, obviously noticing her and Alaric were together. They soon left, followed by Stefan and Elena after thanking me for the fun night. I would definately be doing it again soon.
