I sat on my bed for hours just staring at the wall. I didn’t know what to do with myself. Was I going insane. I was going insane wasn't I? Vampires aren't real. I mean come one, it's like saying the toothfairy visited me last night...ridiculous. Perhaps it was a dream? No, I couldn’t do this to myself. I had to convince myself that it was for the best. I thought a short walk would be the best thing, to help me clear my thoughts. It had already gotten slightly dark outside. I put my headphones on and just bobbed my head to the music as I walked across store after store. I could feel someone eyeing me. I turned around but there wasn't anyone. I took out my headphones just in case and turned around to begin walking back to the house when I turned I saw Jason, the guy from the party. I put my hand over my heart to attempt to steady my heartbeat.

"Gosh, Jason you scared me." He just smirked and stepped forward. I quickly turned back and tried to walk away. Was he a psycho? He walked after me and grabbed my arm, pulling me into an alleyway. I tried to push him off but seeing as he was about 6 foot and a guy I was having a hard time doing that. He was holding me a few feet above the ground by our necks as I gasped for air as he slowly tightened his grip. I felt weaker when he lowered me and began kissing my neck and the next thing I knew, his fangs sunk into my neck and I screamed. I could feel my blood rushing to my neck and leaving my body. It was a sharp piercing pain, like nothing I had ever experienced before. It was like my life was being sucked out of me and as every second passed, I began to slip, my eyes were getting heavy. Then suddenly I felt myself falling to the ground. I saw a stranger pick up a metal rod and stab it into Jason’s chest. The stranger then approached me and kneeled down.

“Jane,” He said.

I lifted my head and saw his face and it was strange how numb I felt.

“Damon?” I managed to say.

“Come on, I need you to focus on me okay?,” He instructed. I nodded. “Stay with me; keep your eyes open.” I could see him fighting himself.

“Damon I’m bleeding get away from me.” I mumbled.

“She’s right Damon,” Stefan said. I saw Elena arrive, covering her mouth with her hands and bursting into tears.

“I’m fine,” Damon stated. I felt myself being lifted off of the ground and we arrived at the Salvatore manor.

“Use this to cover her wound,” Damon said tossing a cloth at Elena. “And keep her awake." I squirmed and whimpered in pain the whole time. My eyelids were getting heavier and I could feel my neck throbbing.

“Jane? Jane!” Damon said tapping my cheek. “Stay awake.”

“Am I going to turn into a vampire?”

Damon looked down at me and I saw his expression soften. “No, that’s not going to happen.”

“Take her upstairs.” Stefan said.

Damon walked up the stairs and lay me down on a bed.

“Let me look at her,” Stefan said. “Jane this may hurt but please try and relax.” He took off the cloth that Elena had wrapped around my neck and I immediately felt the pain increase causing more tears to well up in my eyes. The pain was unbearable. “Luckily you didn’t lose too much blood.”

“What are we going to do?” Elena asked.

“I’ll bandage it up and that should stop the bleeding,” Stefan said. He applied a cold liquid to my wound and it began to burn. But before it could intensify Stefan quickly bandaged up my neck and the pain decreased.

“We should let her sleep it off now,” Damon said.
