Rilaya- She doesn't like me at all

Chapter 6- kisses change people

    
       Before Riley could say a word her back was against the shelves,Maya's hands planted on her hips and Maya's lips on hers. She kissed back immediately wrapping her arms around her neck not a thought in her head as to how weird this should be.
          After what felt like an eternity they pulled apart, allowing themselves to breathe, and looked at eachother.
'What was that for?' Riley questioned as she admired Maya's faatures. The kiss was urgent which had quickly turned into passion and Riley noticed this. In this moment she no longer saw Maya as someone to fear.
Maya sighed and rested her forehead on Riley's
'Why did you protect him?' She asked simply.
'Lucas?' Riley asked although she already knew the answer.
'Yeah him' Maya's voice dripped with venom. She had no grudge against him being in the way of her she just had a grudge against him getting in the way of her and Riley.

'I didn't' Maya was snapped out her thoughts by Riley's voice. She was looking down then rose her head to meet Maya's eyes.
'Yes you did...everyone saw it' Maya said a little more harshly than she wanted.
'Why did you protect him?' Maya repeated stepping closer to Riley. They were face to face again.
'I didn't peaches'
'Ril...' But Riley didn't let her finish.
'Why is it so bad if I did anyway?'
Maya ignored her question and repeated.
'You didn't answer the question'
'Okay I'll answer you if you answer me this...why did you kiss me just now? Why did you kiss me yesterday? Do you like me or do you just like...' This time Maya didn't let Riley finish
'Because your mine!' She snarled possessively. Then stepped back 'I'm sorry that's not right I just...I want' Maya tried, feeling guilty for sounding so scary eventhough that's what she likes to be viewed as.
'The great Maya hart is speechless in my presence' Riley joked trying to lighten the air and ignore what Maya had said.
Maya noticed this and smiled a little 'look what your doing to me Matthews' she held her hands up and shrugged her shoulders calming down a bit knowing Riley was not mad at her or weirded out.
         After a minute of silence
'I didn't protect Lucas' Riley decided to bring it up to finally explain her actions.
'Sure looked like it' Maya spoke her eyebrow raised to show how unconvinced she was.
'I didn't'
'Why are you lying?!'
'I'm not'
'Then tell m...'
'I was protecting you!' Riley shouted losing her patience. Maya's eyes widened at Riley raised voice and then registering what she said she answered her
'Pro..tecting...me?? H...' They seemed to love interrupting each other because Riley did it again
'If you had fought Lucas you would be in trouble...I was protecting you not him' Riley explained and Maya felt awful for not considering this possibility.
'Oh' was all Maya said.
'Yeah oh' Riley moved away from Maya and sat on the desk swinging her legs back and forth her eyes glued to the floor.
        Maya had followed Riley's actions with her eyes and she faced Riley about 2 metres away from her and finally voiced her thoughts
'Why?' Maya asked genuinely confused.
'Because...I don't know' Riley failed to come up with any words.
'Why did you let me kiss you then? Can you answer that' Maya tried again.
'Well I kissed back didn't I' Riley retaliated.
'So you don't mind' Maya asked.
'Umm' Riley didn't want to say yes because that meant Maya could pull stunts like this constantly as she would have given consent.
'You like me' Maya finally put the pieces together after a while of standing in silence trying to figure out the mystery that was Riley Matthews.
'I don't know w-w-what your talking about y-you kiss m me remember... I'm an innocent victim.' Riley argued.
        Maya seemed to turn back into 'The Maya hart' and smirked with this confidence. She took agonisingly slow steps towards Riley. Riley contemplated moving,running  away even but her legs failed her and she stayed seated on the desk.
         Maya ran her hands along the wall before reaching Riley
'Do you like me?' She asked.
'I...' Riley started but her voice cracked. Of course she liked Maya look at her! A few weeks ago she thought Maya hated her and now after feeling her lips against hers and staring into her eyes and talking to her how could she not like her. Maya was addictive. The way she made Riley feel was intense but she didn't hate what it lead to.
       Maya walked up to Riley and stood between her legs. She cupped Riley's face and said
'If you can't tell me show me' Riley couldn't take it anymore and leant in crashing her lips onto Maya's.
        Riley knows that they have to talk about their feelings. She also knows that she doesn't want this to stop so as they kissed she wrapped her legs around Maya pulling there bodies closer together. Not s thought in her head once again.
*Bang Bang Bang*
'Hey who's in there?!'
Riley felt Maya groan against her lips as they heard the janitor attempting to get into the supply closet.
'Come on' Riley said about to get up before Maya pulled her back
'Do we have to go to class?' Maya wiggled her eyebrows suggestively
'Maya!' Riley shouted
'Yeah you might be shouting that'
'Maya' Riley narrowed her gaze
'Chill I'm kidding' and Maya burst out laughing at Riley's reaction.
'I hate you' Riley crossed her arms and Maya pouted at this giving Riley puppy dog eyes. 
         Riley looked away but everywhere she looked Maya followed. Riley's smiled grew each time and she gave in. She pecked Maya on the lips and held her hand out to a not fully satisfied Maya who grabbed her hand anyway.
'I like you like this' Riley acknowledged Maya's change in character.
'Listen Riley' Maya became aware of how she was acting 'I can't always be like this I can't...'
'Maya don't worry I get it...you need time, you have a reputation' Riley stroked a peice of Maya's hair behind her ear. 'I understand peaches'
'Thank you' Maya spoke genuinely as there eyes locked into eachother.
         They then left the closet hand in hand and ran to class leaving behind a very confused janitor and ready to face the consequence of being 15 minutes late to history.
