Rilaya- She doesn't like me at all

Chapter 17- Uhhhh...

Sorry it's been so long guys,, I've had a lot of things going on but I managed to write this new chapter yesterday... it's short but it's going somewhere I hope aha!

BOOM! Only a minute after everyone's eyes were burning into the back of rileys head did they hear that noise.

The door had been thrown open and in came a drenched and furious looking principle. His face was red with anger and he was out of breath as his clothes dripped with water, a few stray prices of ballon still dotted around his blazer.
'YOU!' He pointed directly at Maya of course but then he looked around.

The faces of the students said it all ...Riley. A few sat mouths agape in absolute shock, others stared at Riley whispering 'that's what you did?!', whilst a few more struggled to hold back their laughs. Maya ...of course just smirked
'Yes princip...' but she was immediately cut off
'YOU TWO!' He yelled as he pointed between the only 2 girls that 1. Had eyes on them and 2.were the ones missing in the beginning.
Riley's eyes went wide and she looked at the class who still didn't believe little miss sunshine Riley was the cause of that.

'Maya you said he'd change first?!' Riley whispered slyly not breaking the apologetic smile she had plastered on her face.

'Guess I was wrong' Maya snickered amused.

'What?! What was...' he gestured between the 2 girls again 'that! Stop whispering, stop everything and tell me the meaning of this?!' He fumed.

'It's funny duh!' Maya actually had the nerve to laugh to the principles face!

'MAYA!' Riley whispered yelled as if no one else could here her.

'So you are the course of this?' He folded his arms with a smug expression as if he just caught them out.

'Aaaactually' Maya dragged out the word as she stood up from her desk. Everyone's eyes were on her including Rileys who eventually just opted for facepalming in advance for what was to come

'On the contrary ...sir. I said no such thing. I just stated that I found this' she waved her hand towards his attire. '...hilarious' she smiled a little.

Steam should have shot out of his ears
'It is in no way 'hilarious' you little...' the principle stopped himself from insulting a student 'I ought to expel you for that' he decided.

'For what? Laughing?' Maya raised her eyebrows challenging the man. She new this was a bad idea, she was on her last warning after all.

'Maya ...stop' Riley finally spoke.
'I think you should take your friends advise' Maya looked at Riley ' she's not my friend' Maya turned back to the principle.

    Riley smiled at this exchange. This being because Riley new what she meant yet everyone just assumed Maya was being a bitch and saying that she was not friend with her since they are such opposites.

'No??' He asked 'then you'd like to explain why you were BOTH absent from my class AND within that time this monstrosity happened to me' he raised his voice still soaked and getting angrier at the flashback.

'Well...' Maya began but was halted by a finger to her lips

'Not ...' he turned to her 'you' he then said 'sit down' which surprisingly Maya complied with. Huh maybe she was done fighting...

'You' the principle pointed at Riley then got closer and leaned on her desk. 'I want YOU to tell me' maya shot out from her seat, the chair making a loud bang on the desk behind her and the principle immediately put his hand up at her not breaking eye contact with Riley who immediately shrunk into her seat.
'Sit down.' He said calmly. But Maya remained standing staring at Riley desperately trying to give her confidence to lie telepathically.

'Uhhh...' Rileys  deer in headlights expression killed Maya, she so desperately wanted to help her, make her feel less nervous or something. A wave of guilt fell onto her as their prank seemed less fun now that she couldn't lie herself out of the
consequences and Riley was suffering.

'Welll...' the principe smirked.
'Uhhh...' say something! Maya mentally cursed.
'I'm sorry!' Riley broke.
'No!' Maya whispered to herself 'don't say that' she put her hands in her head thinking of why Riley had to be so pure.

'AHA!' The principle stood up straight ready to hand out a suspension.
