Chapter 25

Niall's POV

I dropped Charlie off at school and wished her good luck for her first exam. I didn't have to do any exams as I've already done them, like centuries ago.

I was quite scared for tonight, spending dinner with Charlie's dad and his new girlfriend. She said to wear a suit, and because I didn't have one of those, I went shopping with Louis.

"What's up Niall?" Louis answered the phone.

"Wanna go shopping?"

"Oh my god, yes!"

"Great! Meet me at the mall now!"

"What about these?" I asked him pointing at these blue air max's.

"They're nice, but surely you need smart dress shoes?"

I grabbed the pair of shoes and walked over to the counter ready to pay.

"That'll be £140" the cashier smiled.

We walked out of JD and went over to some really smart fancy shops, Louis knew what he wanted me to wear so I left it all to him.

"You can go, il text you when I'm done" Louis smiled. I left the shop and went into the apple shop, I needed to get a new iPhone.

I'm so nervous for tonight it's unreal. The name Susan seemed to ring a few bells, I've heard it before, somewhere. A long time ago. Hope Charlie's dad isn't with the Susan I know.

It's been two hours since I left Louis and I haven't heard from him. Meanwhile, I was in TopMan and bought a lot of stuff, mostly tank tops and skinny jeans. Also some chinos as I was running out. Afterwards I went into river island and got some beanies, then went into New Era and got some snapbacks. I've brought quite a lot today, also some Nike Air Max's, and Nike Blazers.

I texted Charlie to see how her exam went but she's obviously still doing it as I got no reply.

My phone buzzed and it was Louis, finally.

Got all the stuff you need Nialler

I walked back to the shop to see Louis outside waiting for me, he had bags full of stuff.

"We're going back to mine to try all these on!" He said enthusiastically.

We walked out of the mall and got into Louis car. The amount of bags we both had was insane. He drove us back to his house and we started to unload the stuff we had. We probably spent more than £2000 today at least.

Louis handed me the suit and a pair of dress shoes to try on, I went into the bathroom and undressed, putting on the shirt first and blazer.

I came out of the bathroom wearing my suit and I felt really posh. This isn't something I like to wear, the only reason I'm doing this is for Charlie. Formal to me is a pair of chinos, nike blazers and a hoodie.

"You look amazing! Charlie's gonna want to fuck your brains out tonight!" Louis laughed.

I checked the time and saw I had a text from Charlie, I automatically smiled.

From:Charlie x
Hey babe, just finished the exam! Went really well, don't forget about tonight xxx

"Well, I better get going" I said to Louis, picking up all my stuff and walking out. I stopped as Louis called my name. "Wait Niall, can we chat first?"

"Yeah sure"

"Just have a seat on my sofa." I sat down on the sofa waiting for Louis to come back from the kitchen.

"See this?" he says while pointing to a picture of him and Charlie. "This was me and Charlie when we were five years old!"

"You two look so cute!"

"Niall Horan, I've known Charlie for a long time, look after her. Treat her well. She's my best friend and I love her to bits. Don't hurt her in anyway, or you'll have me and Liam to deal with."

"I promise I won't hurt Charlie, Lou"

"Good, glad we had this chat"

"I better get going now.."

When I got home, I decided to have a shower and shave. Zayn was with Yasmine and god knows where Harry was, so I was just home by myself.

After my shower, I felt really fresh and clean. I gelled my hair into a quiff and took a couple of topless selfies for my Instagram. I saw that Yasmine put the picture of me and Charlie sitting by the fire, I saved the photo and made it my lockscreen. The moment Charlie said yes to me, i'm going to love this picture forever.

I checked the time and saw it was nearly five thirty, I had to be at Charlie's soon so I got dressed into my suit and made sure everything looked alright. Charlie's dad likes me I think, the first time I met him was scary, and explaining how his daughter got raped on our first date wasn't easy either.

I grabbed a bottle of Italian wine and my car keys and drove to Charlie's.

When I arrived, I saw her dad in the driveway with her, waiting for me. I pulled up and made sure my tie was correct and my hair was still okay and got out and closed the door.

Charlie came running up to me, she was wearing a red slim dress with some pumps. She looked so beautiful, I felt my pants tighten at the sight of her.

She gave me a peck on the lips and I got goosebumps at her touch, her dad walked over to me smiling, least he's smiling and not frowning.

"You look incredible" Charlie whispered in my ear.

"Hello Mr. Grief" I went to shake her dads hand.

"Hello Niall! What's that you got there?"

"Some wine for you sir, it's meant to be really nice"

"Thank you Niall, c'mon guys we better get going! Susan isn't gonna wait at the restaurant forever.

We got into the car and drove to the restaurant, Charlie's hand in mine with her stroking my hair.
