chapter 10

"knock knock"

I can't even begin to say how much I hair these jokes but the way that Jaden says them makes me laugh.

"who's there?"

"a cow goes"

"a cow goes who?"

"no, a cow goes moo!"

Me and Jaden are rolling on the floor laughing from all the stupid knock knock jokes that he's been telling for the past five minutes. Josh was sitting on the couch shaking his head but I could tell that he was fighting a smile. he wanted to join us in laughter, it was written clearly on his tan face.

"you guys are such dorks. nobody tells those jokes anymore and they especially don't laugh at them"

"oh, Josh. indenial.. niiave Josh. come join us" I say. "You know you want to" Jaden chimes in.

"Never in a million years"

"fine, we don't need you anyway" I say and turn to Jaden. "Do another one!!" I shout.

"I've already told you all of my knock knock jokes... do you want to hear a cat joke?"

"no, I want a knock knock joke" I pout.

"you've gotta be kitten me!"

We break down in laughter again. "okay, I've got to admit. that was pretty good" I say in between laughs.

"yeah, I guess I'm alright"

"Haha, yeah"

Josh's POV.

"you've got to ask her out!"

"I cant Jaden"

"you've liked her for how long?"

"as long as I can remember"

"exactly!"

"but...-"

"she is awesome! I mean Bree is better but she is awesome too"

"I know and you're still lucky that I haven't beaten your ass for going out with my baby sister"

"she's a year younger than you! and she's not your baby, she's mine!"

"whatever"

"there she is! she's coming!! bro, if you don't ask her out right now then I'm going to do it myself!"

"okay, fine"

"well, I'll leave you two alone"

"Hey guys" she said with her perfect smile. her green eyes sparkling brighter than they were earlier. How could I ask her out? she only thinks of me as a friend.

"Hey" I said giving her my best fake smile. if I showed even a hint of sadness she would ask me what's wrong and I would have to tell her and then I would really be screwed.

"well, I was just leaving. see you later Liz" Jaden said.

"bye" she called after him as he  walked away.

"so, whats up?" she said. okay, this was it. this was the time. I have to ask her. if I don't Jaden will find out and tell her that I like her and then things will be even worse. I took a deep breath.. only for it to be sucked back in making me loose every ounce of courage I had inside of me before she showed up in front on me with her short aqua dress that fits her perfectly. she looks absolutely stunning. I got some of my courage back and I actually thought I was going to say it but when I looked into her eyes she looked confused and I realised that I've been standing here debating what I should say when she expected the simplest answer.

"the sky.?" I said nervously, I expected her to ask me what was on my mind because I took so long to answer her every day question but instead she laughed.

"Wow, I haven't heard that in a while"

I nodded and laughed awkwardly letting out the breath that I was holding in.
