I came back to consciousness slowly. It was like being held beneath the surface of water, trying to gasp for breath. Finally, I broke the surface and my head shot up. I focused on my senses to tell me where I was.  I was inside a cold dark cellar, it was about 5 feet across and the ceiling was about 6 feet high.

Wolves beyond the right wall.

My vampire told me. I looked and saw a door with no windows. The rest of the cellar I was in was made of cement.

We are underground.

It told me. I closed my eyes and tried to link with Tom. How did I do that, again?

I tried to call out to him in my mind but I could only sense loneliness in my mind. He wasnt there.

I looked around anxiously. Did he think I fled from the wedding? I looked down at myself in the beaten up wedding dress. Hours from being safe.

Suddenly, I remembered the bombs of Obenca. What if they had dropped them? What if Kassimuss, Assysilies, Nathan, Jacie, Siva, Danielle, Jay, Hailey, Max, Talia.... and Tom- what if they were all dead from the fatal herb?

Just then, the cellar door opened. A big muscular burly man walked in. I took a defensive stance.

He's a wolf. A rogue wolf. There are two more wolves and a rogue vampire outside.

I swallowed cautiously and backed up against the cellar wall.

"Need not be afraid, princess. You are Rogue royalty. We have brought you here to rule us along with our King and his secretary." The man said, laying down a bowl. Inside of it I could smell the rabbit blood. My mouth watered.

"Tell me where Tom is." I demanded harshly, showing my fangs to try to intimidate him.

"Nowhere near here. You are safe here. Your people have been punished how they were supposed to be. Now the Rogues can rise to power, with you as our queen." The man smiled, showing disgustingly yellow rotten teeth.

"Tom will come for me. He will find me!" I yelled as the man turned his back on me and left, locking the cellar door on his way out.

I sank to the floor. What did he mean by their punishment? No vampire could survive the blast of an Obenca bombing!

I crawled over to the bowl of blood. It smelled delicious. It wasn't much, however, and wouldn't give me enough energy to break out of the cellar.

I went over to the wall and pressed my hand against it, trying to sense what was beyond it.

A large room right on the other side. It is empty. Beyond that, a hallway.

I did the same to the other three walls.

All I could sense were more concrete walls. It was like I was in the middle of come compound underneath the ground. I looked up. Hmm, underneath the ground...

The surface of the ground is 17 feet above the ceiling. Only dirt. No more concrete above this layer.

I had found the weak spot. 17 feet of dirt between me and freedom. 23 feet if you add the height from the floor to the ceiling.

Jumping up, I punched a hold into the concrete. As I removed my fist, pieces of concrete fell out. I tried to catch all of them so they wouldn't make such a loud noise when they hit the floor. My fist stung. Damn, when Tom punched the wall it looked painless and easy.

I looked up at the hole I had made. I jumped up and held onto the protruding pieces of concrete to hold myself up while I scooped out the dense wet dirt. I threw the handfuls into the corner. I had dug about a foot up into the ground when I heard vibrations. There was someone walking right above the cell. I dug a bit more. The vibrations stopped. I sniffed. It had been a wolf.

I gave myself a break from digging to try to reach out to Tom again. Nothing.

What if he was dead? If he had been caught in the blast of the Obenca bombs? I shivered at the thought of losing him.

Tom, are you there?

I called out. I was talking to myself.

I was captured by the Rogues.

Nothing.

It was as if our link was gone; just like before we were mated...

Hadn't Kassimuss said that mating could be undone? What if he had undone our link? What if he too was captured?

The only thoughts in my head were mine.

In an attempt to hide my disappointment and concern, I went back to digging.

I had dug another 7 inches when all of a sudden I fell to the floor, squeezing my eyes shut.

In front of me lay a huge vast ocean. On the horizon was a large island, troops on the shore of it blasting at me.

All of a sudden I jerked up, looking around frantically. I was still in the cellar.

It must have been a vision... Was that Tom? Was he on his way to save me?

I closed my eyes and focused on my hearing. In the distance I could faintly here waves crashing. They had to be only 10 miles away.

I smiled and started digging with a renewed ambition. Tom was coming to save me.
