***Tom's POV***

~

"I hope you know what you're doing." Kassimuss muttered as I got ready to walk up to the altar.

"Yes, I do." I said. "We both do." I added, turning away from him. I sent love to Maisie who was probably nervous, but I only felt emptiness in my mind. She may have blocked me out so I didn't worry about her. I was just getting ready to walk down to the altar when Danielle interrupted.

"Tom, I can't find Maisie anywhere... she left this note in her room." Danielle told me, giving me a letter.

Siva,

I apologize deeply for running off. I could not find enough courage to marry you under these conditions. Please do not look for me as I need my time alone. I will explore the kingdom for a while and find my way back to you. For now, I give you our love to hold as I do not want it right now. Keep it and give it back to me someday. Please, I beg of you, do not search for me. I will return on my own account. Love, Maisie x

I couldn't believe what I was reading. She ran off, without any proper goodbye... she told me she was sure of this. That must have been why she blocked me out of her mind.

"Tom-" Siva began.

"No... no, no, no." I murmured, running my fingers through my hair.

"I am so sorry, Tom... I didn't know-" Danielle told me.

"This is all your fault." I yelled up into the air. Everyone had turned to look at me. "You all forced us into this. This was supposed to be our wedding! You know what? The bride didn't even get to choose her wedding dress! No wonder she ran off." I shouted, running off into the woods. I sprinted a few miles before collapsing into a small clearing, pounding into the ground with my fists until the moss had turned into a demented pile of mushy moss and dirt.

"This isn't happening... she wouldn't run off." I said to myself, shaking my head.

I suddenly heard a click of some sort of weapon just to the side of the clearing. Just as the trigger of a small shotgun was pulled, I had raced out of the way of the Obenca soaked bullet and attacked the owner of the gun. I grabbed the useless soldier by the neck and snapped it, watching the reaction of three men standing behind him.

"Where. Is. Maisie." I growled, baring my fangs.

"Fire at free will!" One of them yelled. Just as they began shooting, I sprang up into the tree tops and raced across them through the forest. That had answered my question; Carmichael had her.

As soon as I was sure I had escaped those mutts, I dropped down to the ground from the trees and ran to the harbor that pointed closest to the Wolves' territory. The Cobalt Harbor had pure blue waters that led out to the Liberty Ocean. This large ocean connected the lands of the Vampirian and the Wolvian empires; this was the only obstacle between me and Maisie.

"Prince Thomas, your honor, what brings you to the pier?" A middle-aged man with two young boys asked.

"Are those your sons?" I asked. They were dressed in rags and skinny as twigs.

"Yes, sir." The man said, looking down at the little boys.

"Here." I said, reaching for the pearl encrusted corsage on the shoulder of my tuxedo. "All I ask is your assistance in a mission into the Wolvian Empire to save my fiancé." I told him. The pearls on the corsage were worth more than the man could make in a lifetime.

"Boys, go to the house and tell momma that I am helping the prince. I will be home soon." The man said. The boys nodded and went off running to their small house.

"Alright. You can simply call me Tom, by the way. You have my permission."

"Thank you, sir. My name is Antonio." He told me. I nodded.

"The journey across the sea is long but safe. We should make it in one day." I said and he nodded.

With that, Antonio and I set off on our journey to save my Maisie.
